Seriously? Can someone verify the rebounds? Not sure that's possible.

I listened on the way home from the Boyle game. He was at 30 when I turned it on. According to twitter he had 14 or something like that at halftime.

Seeing him play at the Republic Bank Tourney back in Dec., I have ZERO doubt 31 boards is incorrect, he is a "beast" on the boards.

There'll be a couple of teams who won their district but probably wish they hadn't when they see the draw. I think that head-to-head, Lexington Catholic has proven that they're better than Lafayette by having went 3-1 in those games, but Lafayette is probably a worse match up for most teams in the 11th still yet because of Davis.

Jackson Davis with a paltry 32 points & 31 rebounds in the loss.

I said before that whoever lands this kid is getting a jewel. On and off the court and in the classroom. And to think that this time last year, he had no offers....unreal.

LexCath survives Lafayette 83-80 in 2 OT

Lexington Catholic came out the winner in one of wildest, most entertaining post-season basketball games in city history Friday night.

The Knights outlasted No. 11 Lafayette 83-80 in double-overtime in the 43rd District finals in front of a big crowd at Paul Laurence Dunbar.

“That’s probably the craziest game I’ve ever played in,” said Tanner Johnson, who led Lexington Catholic with 24 points,13 rebounds, three steals and three assists.

Knights Coach Brandon Salsman was as pumped (and exhausted) as his players after the thriller.

“Have you ever seen a game like this? I haven’t seen Dunbar this packed since the days of Darnell Burton (in the early 1990s),” he said. “Two great teams going head-to-head, hitting shot after shot.”

Lafayette’s Jackson Davis, who finished with 32 points and 31 rebounds, hit a three-pointer from the top of the key with :02 left in regulation to tie it 61-61.

“I knew i had to get a shot off because the clock was ticking, so I pump-faked them to get the best shot I could,” the 6-foot-8 senior said.

32 points and 31 boards . Unreal!! How did they lose this game!! Whoever lands this kid will be getting a stud. On the floor and in the classroom. Seems like a really good kid with a good head on his shoulders. Wish him the best

Two extremely good stat crews worked the games with experience ranging from the state tournament to college games. One crew had 31 rebounds and I believe the other had Davis with 30 rebounds. Statistics have been questioned on this site a lot lately but from my experience over the years with WL Stats and the Lexington Catholic Stats Crew and from personally attending this game I have no doubt Mr. Davis' numbers are correct.
