February 7, 201412 yr Anybody catch it tonight? Great show with Garth Brooks as the final musical act and many guests. A great 22 years from Jay. Jimmy Fallon takes over February 17th.
February 7, 201412 yr Just watched the end of it. Jay's final words from the desk were pretty emotional. I always preferred him to Letterman & hate to see him go. Having said that, Fallon will be outstanding.
February 7, 201412 yr I watched the first half. Funniest one liner (Leno), "now I have to sign up for Obama care." Carol Burnett was also on the show. Loved watching her show with Harvey Coreman and Tim Conway back in the day. The actors were constantly trying to maintain their character without cracking up.
February 7, 201412 yr I always preferred him to Letterman We find ourselves at odds once again, Randy... Having said that, Fallon will be outstanding. ...and then you TOTALLY REDEEM YOURSELF. I agree, Fallon will do a great job.

February 7, 201412 yr Just watched the end of it. Jay's final words from the desk were pretty emotional. Jay went out in a really classy way. His words and the difficulty he had saying them looked to be very sincere. I know many people didn't like Jay, especially after the Conan deal but I could never help liking the Jay. He always seemed like a good guy. With the way Sandra Bullock broke down talking about his leaving a few days ago made me look at Jay even better.
February 7, 201412 yr Although I definitely thought they used to be, I haven't found Letterman or Leno to be humorous for the last decade, give or take. I agree, though, that Fallon should do a great job. It'll give me a reason to turn on the Tonight Show again.
February 7, 201412 yr Used to be more of a Letterman fan and was for several years but then his yarn got old and I started watching Late night again. In the end I liked Jay better. Fallon will do fine as long as he doesn't try to reinvent the show, put his own spin on it but needs to keep it similar to what it has been for the last 50 years.
February 7, 201412 yr I've never understood the appeal of these late night talk shows. Always seemed dumb to me. Also, thought he had left like 3-4 years ago...:idunno:

February 8, 201412 yr I've never understood the appeal of these late night talk shows. Always seemed dumb to me. Also, thought he had left like 3-4 years ago...:idunno: He left, turned the show over to Conan, screwed Conan and came back, and is now leaving again.
February 8, 201412 yr He left, turned the show over to Conan, screwed Conan and came back, and is now leaving again. He was forced out when it was turned over to Conan, ratings sucked and NBC relented and brought him back. Of course Jay's agent Helen Kushnick facilitated Carson getting forced out by NBC, so I guess NBC forcing him out again this time for Fallon is some sort of poetic justice.
