Nice to see you posting! Hopefully we hear from you a little more often.

It is a fun topic to think about. In the past I think the biggest complaint about this would be the giant difference in enrollment among teams involved. If you started with this idea, then broke it down into a big school super class, and a small school super class, I think it would start to become more of an acceptable proposition.

I have no dreams of this ever becoming a reality, and I realize there would be some competitive inequities.

I understand, and you are right, it would never become a reality. I didn't mean to throw cold water on it.

 

If it is just for fun, then we should all take a shot at who we would put into a 32 team Super Class.

The criteria of a super class cant have anything to do with factors older than 2-3 years or you will get Hazard (a 3 loss 1a school) having to beat Scott Co (15-0 Largest School in the state) to win a championship and that is just foolish. Also agree with Watusi 2 super divisions would be better.

There are about 10 schools in the state that could qualify for the "super class" division.

You all are thinking of it in terms of enrollment and competitiveness, which was not my intention at all.

Doesn't Texas do something like this? I like the idea, talk about being able to determine a "state champion". I think it would be fun to watch. Every game would worth the admission.

I am all for it......but, after 3-4 years, people would still hate us. Just sayin'..

That isn't going to change anytime soon...or maybe ever! LOL

After last season, I think the "hate" has subsided just a tad.

We have kicked this around and have suggested it for years but in reality I doubt it ever gets much traction.

 

However, no way the small schools could ever hope to compete.

 

I like the idea of a super class with 16 teams in it. Anyone can opt in the top 16 and after the volunteers then the schools with the largest enrollment fill out the remaining spots.

 

Next I would like to see the smallest 16 teams in Class A and then we would have nearly 100 teams in 2A and 3A.

 

I would seed the Super Class and Class 1A (we would do that for the KHSAA).

 

With this format every one of the four championship games would be very meaningful.

 

Of course I want to win the lottery too...

The Texas system has some moving parts to it but not a super class.
