Sources are saying that there is some movement in 1A, 2A, and 3A. Anyone else heard anything?

 

I can't think of a single 1A school who would move up to 2A.

 

Maybe some EKY 2A schools moving up to 3A for travel reasons.

 

And, can't think of any 3A schools wanting to move up to 4A.

 

But, I've seen stranger things happen.

More specifically 2A and 3A. Just what I have heard. May not be any truth to it but it came from good sources.

After the boys state tourney. I think they will be meeting about it.

I am pretty sure Dixie was asked if they wanted to move to 5A and they said yes. Boone was also asked and they said no.

Scott was asked if they wanted to move from 5a to 4a, and they said yes.

In the case of Dixie, they were the 6th smallest 6A school. If it's true they were given the opportunity, it would seem to me that it's either because they kept moving up the line until the found a team to agree, or that many teams petitioned to play up and all 6 (or more) were given the chance.

 

Similar for Scott which was the 3rd smallest team in 5A. Unlike the 6A situation, I absolutely expect that at least three schools asked to play up. Madisonville is smaller than Scott, so I hope they took the opportunity to move down. Sure would assist in the 4A situation in the west.
