January 22, 201412 yr .............. The first person I followed was @johnfayman. The first person that followed me was @ianfrostafa I follow 2,521 people. I am followed by 2,563. I use lists more than I review my regular timeline. To me, Twitter is like BGP in that you get to know people you don't really know. In fact, I was able to find a PS4 for my son solely because of the help of a follower on twitter that I don't even know. I didn't even know of the list capability until you added me to one. Still don't know how they work.

Basically you can list people however you want, and then scroll through different timelines. You could have a list for people you personally know, then one for celebrities, athletes, etc... It would keep your TL from being a mess, if you wanted to do that.

January 22, 201412 yr I'm not sure who I was following on Twitter initially...I know I've un-followed quite a few folks over the years. The first person I'm showing at current is @JasonIsbell, but I don't think I've been following him for much more than like 3-1/2 years or so.
