Billy Hicks ties the all-time wins record

Congratulations to Coach Hicks. After reading An Outside Shot I gained a whole new respect for the man.

Congratulations!!!!!

I'm so proud of coach Hicks for tying the record even though you ask him he won't take credit for it he says record belongs to all the fans that were there to see him do it so congrats on tying the record coach many more wins to come.

Coincidentally I posted this a couple of days ago in the "Composite Rankings 1-15-14" in response to Walter saying that he wasn't buying Scott County's 2nd or 3rd in the State's ranking. Hope no one minds me reposting it here as it seems to fit...

I don't really feel this way about Ballard, but for some crazy reason if there ever was a season that Scott Co. wasn't a top rated team, something would be terribly missing for me. Can't really explain it, but with them always being good, it just wouldn't be the same if they weren't.

They're not even in the region that I follow most closely, but I just get a yearly rush out of placing them high on the pedestal of having the mystique of being the most untouchable institution in all of Kentucky High School Basketball.

To me they just seem to be that awesome constant year after year, and they amaze me with how they just reload, and always bring it with a tough team.

I have a ton of respect too for Coach Billy Hicks, and think of him as the King of High School Coaches.

They just seem to keep the bar raised so very high for B-Ball excellence, and something would be sorely missing without that.

Is this all a strange way to view them... I don't know? All I know is that's how I feel.

Can anybody else relate to what I'm saying?

Yeah, it's kind of like not seeing Duke in the top 10 rankings.

Congratulations to Coach Hicks. When I first started seeing him on the sideline, I almost got a chuckle out of some of his antics and behavior. Thought for sure he was a heart attack waiting to happen, and could've swore a time or two that his face got almost as red as his blazer. Figured this guy was off his rocker. THEN, I met him off the court. A complete 180 degrees difference. Very cordial, soft-spoken and insightful. Congratulations once again!

That's a lot of games...and wins!

Ditto. That book showed me a different side of the man.

In the words of Lee Corso, " not so fast, my friend!"

Yes it was on the news here tonight that the record were wrong. Somthing to do when he coached at Everts.

The KHSAA to the rescue.

I always thought Coach Hicks would end up with a college job. Great coach.
