Kinda grade school/high school, but mostly college--Sixth Man!! Interesting watching the younger brother (Kenny) grow up and become his own man!! Funny, but with a message!!

Hoosiers is the best basketball movie. Truly a classic.

 

BGGreen - Nice call on "The Sixth Man". I enjoyed that movie when it was first released & wouldn't mind watching it again.

 

I have never seen Coach Carter, so I cannot comment on that.

ARe you kidding me???? Jimmy Chitwood, his drunken father, Gene Hackman and the lessons he taught.... this is one that I break out with my son every season atleast 2-3 times.

 

I don't think they ever showed Chitwood's father, Shooter was the other kid's dad.

 

 

I would have to say:

 

1) Hoosiers

2) Hoop Dreams

 

I'm waiting for the new edition of Hoop Dreams that's coming out soon on DVD. My buddy recently told me that Agee's father was shot and killed along with Curtis Gates.

If you came from a small school as I did, then Hoosiers can't be topped. It's the greatest ever. If you came from a large school, then you might as well be watching an infomercial. :lol: LOL!

Hoosiers is my favorite. Does any one remember one (70's) With Robbie Benson. The college coach really had it out for him. From what I remember its the worst.

The Sixth Man--still amazes me that Travis Ford did not got an Oscar nomination for that one!
