Maile played catcher with his AABC team. From what I've heard that that team he played on will be a large part of CovCath's JV team. All freshman were on that team - Sanoila, Holocher, Nutini, Shover, Isler, Hartman to name a few. Just wondering why they won't be playing freshman ball?

There is a good chance that some of these guys will be playing varsity. The AABC team you are referring to is the KY Kids, and you are correct, they were very good. They won nationals 2 or 3 years ago in thier age group, and the have been exposed to some top notch coaching (Bill Holocher, Rich Maile, Mike Shover and a couple others). There are a couple other HS's that will benefit from having players from this team.

 

The all region team in 4 years will look like a roster from this team.

Maile IMO will be the only one with a chance to play varsity this year depending on what they have at catcher. Don't have a clue what they have. The rest of the boys are good, but not varsity level yet.

I agree totally with Dillon Stiltner from Phelps. He actually played and competed as a 7th grader. Robert T. Runyon, a freshman from Belfry will be an outstanding player if he is able to totally recover from his accident last summer. He was on the varsity team last year. I have been told he is actually the only 8th grader to ever record a win in a varsity game for Belfry. There should be a lot of young talent in the 15th region this year.

If Maile is that good then I think he definitely has a legit chance to be the catcher for the Colonels. Last year that was the only weak spot of there team. They had to use Larkin which has been said he is a natural 2b. When my summer ball team faced them that's where he was at. So with Browning graduating I figure it will be him and Schriever up the middle. The other catcher who saw time in the games I played against the Colonels not sure on the name but he was a lefty. I may be wrong but I think he graduated. So this job is up for battle. Not sure about the JV catcher but the Maile kid might end up with a job. Coach K is not afraid to throw fresh out there, recently Bleser and Blajeskowski both started as 9th graders.

Chris started in the Regional games and in the Regional Finals. Chris has a cannon and experience behind the plate in big games. Chris should be the number 1 guy right now. But who knows with Krumps!!

CCH has about 5 or 6 very good catchers in the 4 grades.

Owsley County really has some good young freshman to watch out for.

Kyle Bobrowski is a really good hitter. As he matures he will become even stronger. He's definately one to watch out for in the future. He is also an extremely hard working kid. He will do whatever you ask him to do, and will never complain. A coaches dream player!

Jeremy Toohey from Somerset has a lethal bat and a great arm for a young kid. Played quite a bit last year on the JV team that only lost one game.

Yea your right Champs I completely forgot about Farrell. Your right he was the one starting in the region tourny and I think with that experience he should atleat start out as the number 1 catcher for the Colonels.

Well they have two Jordan Hardy and Kyle bobrowski could really surprise alot of people and possibly will get alot of Varsity playing time this year.
