cshs81
7th Grade? How many years of Varsity can you play till you come inelegible? No limit. The count starts once you start your frosh year. You then have 4 years to play.
stickymitts
Highlands freshman team should be very good. OOPS! They don't have a freshman team so half the kids that should be playing are lifting for football !! For the record, most freshman don't play freshman ball. Most play JV, regardless if there's a freshman team or not. A freshman team would consist of mainly middle schoolers. So, if any freshmen are lifting for football instead of playing baseball, it's by choice.

If so, why do ANY of the HS have a Frosh team??

Not all, just the one you were directing your comments to. I do know for a fact that most small schools Frosh teams consist of mainly Frosh that don't play a lot of JV and middle schoolers. It's a great idea and is great for a program, it's just tough to find time, coaches, fields...etc. I'm sure HHS will have a Frosh program in the near future. covcathftball
From what it looks like now there will be atleast 4 or 5 freshman starting for CovCath's JV team consistently and probably more than that on some games. After seeing them play a little longer, Maile is definately top 20 freshman in the state without a doubt. Also Zach Isler has to be close to the top 20 freshman in the state too. statmanhensley
Look out for lefty Tanner Perkins from Rockcastle County. The first ever game he pitched in high school ball was a few days ago in a varsity game against Apollo. He didn't win the game but he kept the game tied 1-1 until the 6th inning. He's also been known for his presence at the plate too. One other freshman that will see a good deal of playing time at Rockcastle County is utility player Jake Riddle. He will see action at second, third and even catcher. Both players have literally grown up together playing baseball all their lives.

Deuce41
Cody Jones---Whitley County, dead pull hitter with lots of strength and speed, could be a great outfielder for the colonels. Josh Smith---Corbin, good hitter, going to be a solid pitcher, lots of speed on the basepath. Ted Clifford---Whitley County, Great young pitcher under John Smith should really shine. David Rose---Whitley County, Great control on the mound and can bring it. John Smith has some good ones. Mike Storms---Whiltey County, Amazing curveball, will get stronger and bigger. Chad Lenon---Whitley County, Great glove at firstbase, somewhat slow but good bat. Mike Campbell---Corbin, really good bat, can play alot of positions. Hagen Paul---Williamsburg, great athlete who can play all over the field
