firebird
Yes - Tanner Browning What kind of a high school player did he become? Is he playing in college anywhere?
2Short
Maile played catcher with his AABC team. From what I've heard that that team he played on will be a large part of CovCath's JV team. All freshman were on that team - Sanoila, Holocher, Nutini, Shover, Isler, Hartman to name a few. Just wondering why they won't be playing freshman ball? There's one more to keep an eye on.. Ryan Darner...played with the same group..hit 3rd thru 5th...beautiful stroke...a little shy...may need a year to get comfortable..but this kid can hit! Sandman
There is a good chance that some of these guys will be playing varsity. The AABC team you are referring to is the KY Kids, and you are correct, they were very good. They won nationals 2 or 3 years ago in thier age group, and the have been exposed to some top notch coaching (Bill Holocher, Rich Maile, Mike Shover and a couple others). There are a couple other HS's that will benefit from having players from this team. The all region team in 4 years will look like a roster from this team. If they won "nationals" two or three years ago and didn't repeat or even threepeat, what's the problem?
cshs81
If they won "nationals" two or three years ago and didn't repeat or even threepeat, what's the problem? You don't repeat as national champs and there is a problem?
2Short
This is not to say anything is certain in the future based simply on the past; nor is it an excuse. However, it is relative to note that in the world of select baseball, as the kids get older, many of the national caliber teams broaden their recruiting, acquiring stud pitchers who literally fly in for one outing then fly out...this team of 11 local kids (9 at CCH, 1 at Scott, and 1 at Conner) competed head to head with much success. They repeatedly made it to final 4's and final 2's...and ran out of fresh arms. Winning trophies was not their focus...improving, learning and facing the best competition they could find in preparation for h.s. was. They do not carry a 16 man roster like many of their competitors. The national title was an awesome accomplishment...but their budget and their priorities will make it difficult to repeat. BTW they did add another nice player for this summer from NC...Pabst I believe is his name.
Lightning
Andy Blank from Buckhorn is a very good baseball player. He started as an 8th grader and put up some very good numbers for an 8th grader.
Blue Blazer
Raceland has 3 excellent Freshman Pitcher Josh Wilson 3rd baseman/DH John Scott Carver Utility Player Tyler Boyles Tyler played outfield, infield, and pitched last year as an 8th grader. He is an excellent SS but being behind D-1 SS and base stealer SR Thomas Tolliver Boyles will probably find a spot in the outfield this season and be SS the next 3 years. However all these three will be key for the RAMS defending the 16th Region All A Championship this season!
DEVILPRIDE78
I Agree That These 3 Players Are Pretty Good But They Did Not Contribute Very Much At The Varsity Level. I Really Do Not See Them Contributing Much At The Varisty Level This Year Unless Of An Injury. Raceland Returns Their Entire Starting Line Up Plus The Return The Morris Kid. The 3 Players You Named Will Keep Raceland Strong For The Next 3 Years. The Toliver Kid Is Extremely Fast But A D-1 Shortstop No Way.he Does Not Have The Arm To Play That Postion In College. His Arm Strength Is Questionable At Best For High School Shortstop. Best Chance For Him At The Next Level Is Outfield.:fire: :fire: :fire:
cshs81
, but I know the best one at CovCath is Luke Maile. . Sounds like he may start out at the JV level.
ukbellco14
Spencer Greer at Bell Co. started 31 games at short stop last year as a 8th grader (22-9)record He batted 4th or 5th in the line up and had a batting avg. of 411 to lead the team.
hchsindians722
I agree with Maile who is a all around talented athlete, but the others mentioned are just fundamentaly sound baseball players. The hc frosh team has a tough team shaping up.

DMZ76
Highlands freshman team should be very good. OOPS! They don't have a freshman team so half the kids that should be playing are lifting for football !!
3sporteagle
Conley and Richardson were on the Varsity team at JC as seventh graders two years ago when JC made it to the final four. Both will start on the Varsity team with Conley as a pitcher and 3rd baseman, he is a very versatile player and Richardson will play first and outfield. Watch these two in the future as they both have a lot of talent.
