Dinner: what did you have?

Featured Replies

Yesterday was Valley Thrift (Reading Road) shopping day. Ate lunch at the Montgomery IHOP - California omelet, fried potatoes and pancakes.

Dinner was tortellini and Greek salad. I'm an eclectic eater.

Homemade Chicken Veggie soup and a Ruben Sandwich from Arby's.

Some sort of Maple Mustard Chicken with zucchini, potatoes, squash, peppers, and brussel sprouts baked in oil and salt. Chicken was delicious. Had never had brussel sprouts before. Were much better than I was anticipating.

Brussel Sprouts are a family fav. Cut fresh sprouts in half, toss with olive oil, salt, pepper & bake on cookie sheet until browned/carmelized. Very Good!

Crock pot roast taters and carrots!

Have been particularly busy with work lately and haven't had much chance to cook.

Did get some vacation time to take a long Labor Day weekend and visit with family in Iowa. Got drunk on Sunday night and texted my cousins that I was all-in for making breakfast the next morning. So, I was committed, and knocked out some pretty kick-butt omelettes for everyone. Made something like 15 or so when it was all said and done.

Got back Tuesday night to Ky and hung around at Mom and Dad's long enough to make lunch for them on Wednesday. French toast and sausage with some fresh peaches.

It was my buddy's turn tonight. He grilled burgers and smoked sausage with a cheezy potato pak and corn on the cob. Very good.

Dinner last night was at The Silver Dollar/Whiskey by the Drink, on Frankfort Street in Louisville. Fried oyster sandwich, sweet potato fries and collard greens. 4 stars out of 5; I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Dewey's Pizza (Bronx Bomber). Delicious.

Love that one sans black olives.

Crest view Hills?

Crest view Hills?

I'm not a huge black olives fan, but I didn't take anything off. So, so good.

And yes, Crestview Hills. My favorite pizza, even though it's just our second time going there.

My only complaint would be the salads.

I ate a Smokey Valley Burger, as Smokey Valley Truck Stop in Olive Hill, KY will closing down for good come Sept. 30. I don't get near there often and figured I better eat there before it closes for good. Awesome food like always!

So you once again were in my 'hood and no call?

Threw some sliced potatoes and onions in some aluminum foil with some olive oil, salt, and pepper and threw them on the grill with a couple pork chops. Had some creamed corn as well. Solid.

Pretty much. :lol2::lol2:

We weren't planning to be out there, but I had a craving, so that's where we ended up.

There's a pastry shop next door to Dewey's. You ever been? It was closed when we were leaving.

I didn't know it was closing. Excellent burgers at that place.
