Can't score if you don't throw it at the basket. Can't get second chance points if there isn't at least a first chance.

 

CovCath "D" was suffocating, but a lack of shots is not unique to this game. The difference was CCH was able to get some transition points of their defense to score quickly and make the score lopsided.

My only question centered around rotating the HHS players in and out of all three games. Now there is nothing wrong at all in bringing players in and out of games but it was done so much especially in the Frosh and JV games, that I highly doubt any single player could get into the flow of the game. Honestly I had a CovCath fan say it reminded him of club or recreational basketball games where everyone is supposed to get the same amount of minutes to play in a game.

It reminded me of a Blue calling a third strike that was a bit outside but since the Blue called it a strike, then it was a strike and the batter is out! :idunno:

In no way did the refs have any part of this lopsided game, but...

 

that awarding of 3 points may have been the worst call I have ever seen in my many years of watching basketball. Not 18 feet, more like a 16 foot shot. He caught the ball just inside the 3 pt line, then set his feet a step forward and hit the shot with less than a second remaining. He left the floor just behind the free throw line. I thought it was silly for Coach L to be complaining about whether the shot beat the buzzer, until I realized that he was arguing the ref awarding 3 points.

I was impressed with the intensity that the blueboys played with. They play defense but the refs let them play. On the birds front many empty trips and good defense combined with a poor shooting night and ouch!

All I know is for all of the years that Dale caught grief about running up the score, what Ruthsatz did tonight was absolutely classless. I guess it meant that much to him to get that running clock with 2 minutes to go in the game. Lucky for him someone did not take his son out or maybe even VonHandorf when he cherry picked at the end of the game.

Yes VonHandorf is the Freshmen and the game tonight was his first varsity start!

Only saw CVH once, but he doesn't play like a freshman.

I guess it meant that much to him to get that running clock with 2 minutes to go in the game. As I stated, each and every CovCath player played double digits minutes except for Wichmann who has just returned to action! Schult (14) and Ruthsatz (10) were the only CovCath players to scored in double figures but CovCath had 5 players score 7 or 8 points in the game and only one player Wichmann who didn't score a point!

 

Heck in my opinion it wasn't even one of CovCath better shooting nights, as CovCath only shot 35.7% from behind the Arch.

 

This season CovCath has been scoring an average of 66 points a game while giving up only 49! So by scoring 67 points they were only 1 point higher than there season average but HHS was 20 points below the average given up by CovCath "D".

And this all means what. Just admit that Ruthsatz wanted to put the running clock on HHS and it took him until the 2 minute mark of the game to do that. Congrats to the coach and he should be able to sleep well tonight. You mentioned VonHandorf started, but he scored late in the fourth on a cherry pick basket that an HHS player could very well have fouled him extremely hard. Then we would have read on here how bush of a play that was by the HHS player. Why risk the injury to one of your starters with the game out of reach? Why was CovCath pressing the entire game?

 

Just admit that you and the CovCath faithful enjoyed the evening as payback for all of the drubbings that the football team has taken over the last what 10 years?

 

Just calling it as I see it. If Dale would have done that in a football game, you would be the first one on here calling him out.
