Rockmom's goin' country!

Well, it's been a long and fulfilling life in Louisville, but in a month or so, I'll be calling Hudson, KY home. My sister is really struggling and I am moving to her place and we'll be co-owners of a few acres with a very nice home. As I mentioned in the resolution thread, my brother-in-law passed away this year, and this has really been a struggle for my sister, as at 48, he wasn't prepared at all for death. In addition, after visiting my mother, her financial situation is pretty dire, and I'll be more able to help her when splitting the expenses of living with my sister. Still will be working at French Lick, but I'll be adding 15-30 minutes to my drive each way. Hudson is 30 minutes from each: Hardinsburg, Elizabethtown and Leitchfield, and only about 15-20 minutes from Rough River. So, if any of you happen to be passing that way this year, just give me a shout, stop by and hang out or just wave! :D

Good luck with the move, RM! Change is a good thing. Sounds like a nice fit for all of you. Bummed that your daily commute is longer. But financial peace is financial peace. And if you and your loved ones are moving closer to that, it's a good thing.

All makes sense to me I think you will enjoy the company.

......

RM, like many others on here, you'll be in my thoughts and prayers. Good luck with everything. You are clearly a great sister (and friend) to have.

God bless you RM. I know how stressful it canbe when you need to help out loved ones. You should be commended and I hope everything works out.

Does it always have to be about you? I'm not sure I'm ready to make this big of a change.

Y'all are very kind, but I benefit as much as anyone. But, it will be a major adjustment, to be sure. I will be going from living in the coolest, hippest, most densely populated area of Louisville, to being neighbor to an Amish community. I should have some good stories!

Mom, you're one in a million. Good luck and God Bless.

So this means you will be coming to Etown often? :)

Probably!

I am sure it will be a major adjustment, but I know you can handle it. Prayers and angels in your new journey RM.

A few acres? Sounds like Rockmom needs a puppy!

Good luck, RM. We'll miss you here in The Ville.

Light bulb.

Somebody call the people making that "Basketball Moms of Kentucky" show.

We're going to pitch "Highlands Snobs Goin' Country". Rockmom can move to Hudson, I'll go to the mountains. We just need one more. Maybe send Councilman Tom Owens to a farm somewhere outside Owensboro.

Get ready, America.
