No Rick Pitino Press Conference Following The UK Game

Thoughts?

I really wonder how it would have been portrayed, with the roles reversed and it were a losing Calipari who'd stiffed the media on the presser?

I don't think this would have been as big of a deal if it weren't for the Behanan situation either.

Pitino always does post game pressers outside the team locker room on the road. Much ado about nothing...

You would have thought that would have been brought up several years ago. It's not the 1st time his Cards have played at Rupp. Is it something he just started last year? Is Matt Jones the only media person to make a big deal out of this?

I remember it being brought up two years ago...

This is Pitino's policy on the road but he's the only coach I've ever seen skip out at Rupp. Unless one is slipping my mind.

Just seems kind of unprofessional, even if it is his policy. Pitino has earned it, but between that and his making his grand entrance separate from the team, you kind of get the sense that there's some arrogance at play.

If it has been his policy for a number of years, shouldn't diligent ink-stained wretches know about it----if they're doing their jobs?

Obviously looking for something to cry about with Pitino. As a UK fan I grew tired of the Pitino bashing a long time ago. The program is where it is today because of Rick. The cry of him becoming coach of the arch enemy is stupid and childish IMO.

You think the program is where it is today because of Rick Pitino? Did you think the same thing when Billy Clyde was coaching at UK? Pitino left UK 17 years ago.

Yep. If not for Pitino returning UK to glory and back to #1 program status then people would have had more patience with Tubby and Billy G and both would have been given longer chances to succeed.

If I knew about it, it couldn't have been much of a secret. But, of course this started with Matt Jones who is probably the exact person that started it 2 years ago as well, so.......

Sure do. UK could be UCLA if Pitino didn't restore them to glory. Coach Cal probably wouldn't have wanted the job. You say 17 years, but you still can't let it go that he is the coach at Louisville now.

Cal took the job when the program was in ruins. Just like Pitino, Calipari followed a drunk. Pitino is a reason but not THE reason. Afterall, Pitino wouldn't have wanted the job if not for what Rupp did.
