You mean Highlands will be overrated all season again? :D

Overrated is going 12-0 and getting t-shirts then not making it to the state semis:eek:

Having a night to think about this a little, I will pose this question to you 'ru and some of the others. Please elaborate on what you mean by "sham" and "search". Is this really a search? As I understand it, District policy is to post all jobs for 30 days and anyone desiring to apply for the job can submit an application. Nothing to say that after 30 days Brian Weinrich is not appointed the next head coach at HHS. Seems like there are a lot of people out there trying to stir the pot looking for something that simply is not there. I would throw my support to Coach Weinrich because he has put in the time with the program, been loyal to Dale and the school and the success that the program has had over the last 20 years should be able to carry on without missing a beat.

At the end of this whole thing, Brian Weinrich will be head coach with all assistants returning and the Birds will be ready to roll in 2014 as if nothing changed.

You got that right. Simon Kenton didn't even win their regional title.

With respect to "sham," remember that there is a stated preference for current teachers in the FTIS

I realize "current" teachers may get preference, but what about someone that applies and there is a teaching job open or going to be open at the end of the year in their field?

Getting spanked by the 5th best team in Louisville. I'm not even sure SK was in the top 3 in NKY at the end of the year.

About 50 times. Specht is a special leader and has accumulated a lot of hardware in a much bigger pool. Steve, honestly, would be a great fit at Highlands if he was interested.

He has imperfections, as we all do, but he is a special football coach.

I'm sure the assistant will be fine, I mean it has all of the same selling points as Gene Bartow and Bill Guthridge. Both of them had been a part of a lot of championships too.

Ok now...easy with the Tarheel references.:irked:

Very good point.

I am attempting to get further clarification on the "process."

So trying to be as fair as possible, the title of the thread may be jumping the gun. I guess it just depends on what Highlands decides to do. If they just appoint Coach Weinrich (AND THIS IS WHAT I THINK HIGHLANDS SHOULD DO) then I have in fact jumped the gun. However, if there an actual "search" for the new coach I think this is a 100% legit question.

Think about it, you said it, others have said it on here, and I have heard it outside of BGP, everyone seems convinced that Coach Weinrich will be the next head coach.

Very good point.

If there is a search (applicants, interviews, resulting in a hiriing) and Brian gets the job will you label a "sham" or can the process actually deterimine he is the best choice? :D

I am still interested in this other thread you are talking about starting because I am not sure exactly what you are getting at with it to be honest.

Again and from the outside looking in, I think Coach Weinrich is the best choice for Highlands. In your example we could either say he was the best choice and the process determined that or the other applicants never really had a shot. That's why I am asking the question.

That will probably be a 2014 thread.

Spanked? 12 points is not spanked.

But they did beat the team that beat Highlands! :D
