If Highlands would choose an assistant over Steve Specht, things are crazier in the Fort than I thought. :ohbrother:

About 50 times. Specht is a special leader and has accumulated a lot of hardware in a much bigger pool. Steve, honestly, would be a great fit at Highlands if he was interested.

 

He has imperfections, as we all do, but he is a special football coach.

I have a buddy whose kid plays for St. X and he tells me how engaging of a person coach Specht is. He also tells me there are a lot of people that aren't happy with the way things have gone the past few years.

I have no knowledge of the applicants nor do I have any opinion one way or the other has to who they hire, but how did that line of thinking work out for Charlie Weis?

Highlands just needs to reallocate some resources to defense...Highlands D has been the back bone of that team for several seasons. D wasn't up to usual standards maybe this season but how many starters on D were injured and didn't play in the finals? I heard there were a few positions that due to injuries there wasn't a back up available with any varsity experience. Maybe a HHS Fan can confirm or correct me on that...just what I was told.

To be fair and clear: if Specht had left St X, Dale had even an inkling of interest in the job, but the Bombers hired an asst instead, I'd think it was just as ridiculous.

I guess it would depend on the reason WHY Specht is available in the first place.

All starters on D were present and accounted for in the state finals. Now were they all 100% healthy, that is another story.

You only need 11 at one time the last I checked. What is SK record against HHS again?
