Ravens 18 Lions 16

Featured Replies

Ravens get a 61 yard FG with less than 40 seconds left, then the dude that said Megatron was old gets a pick on the next play. Rice runs for a first down and goes to the turf (rather than trying to score, it looked like he had an open field ahead of him). Still 20-some seconds left, but the Lions, who had all 3 timeouts left (I think) don't use any and the game ends.

All this talk about the Bengals hoping for a #1 seed...they will be lucky to get in as the #6 seed.

A few thoughts:

I was a little surprised the Ravens elected to kick a 61 yard field goal. But, they made it.

I was very surprised by the Ravens third down play call the down before, which appeared to seal their fate...Guess not.

I thought the Lions called time out as the Ravens were at the LOS on fourth down, and that's what the broadcast appeared. But ESPN continued to show the Lions with three TO's until the end of the game. Maybe the Ravens called the TO???

Lots of Boo's by the Lions' faithful at games end. Not sure if they were booing the choice not to call all available time outs in hope of a miracle, booing the last pick by Stafford, or just booing the loss in general.

Things certainly have gotten interesting for Cincinnati in a hurry. But, lots of things still in play. The Ravens are about as likely to lose their last two as they are to win both. I guess I could say the same about the Bengals though...

With the way the tie breakers fall, it appears the Bengals better win the division, or things could get dicey. Of course, that could still happen by Sunday.

One thing that bother me is the loss of Huber. He has been a game changer for the team IMO, and often sets the defense up to control the game.

So if the Bengals and Ravens both win next week the Bengals are the 2 seed but in danger of missing the playoffs if Miami wins. If Baltimore and Miami win out....

All this talk aobut a 1 seed? One person said that, come on man! I was the first one who mentioned being worried about the possibility of missing the playoffs two weeks ago. However at the end of the day the Bengals still control their destiny, and can wrap it up this weekend. There would be nothing lucky about it.

Bengals are going to miss the playoffs. Talk about a collapse of epic proportions. :lol2:

Are you now saying they are going to miss the playoffs?

Bengals need to win at least 1 of their last 2 to have a shot at the playoffs, if they lose both then the "Most Talented Team" will probably be sitting home in 3 weeks.

Almost anyone who is a long time Bengals fan can't help but fear the worst. It has been burned into us for 20 years.

I sure hope that I'm wrong, but in my mind's eye I'm picturing two weeks from now Dalton standing frozen with a stunned blank look on his face when the Ravens destroy any of the hopes the Bengals had of making the playoffs as the final seconds of the season tick off the clock.

What a ridiculous punch line it would be for the typically comedic Bengals to see what appeared to finally be a fantastic season where everything was adding up to success, to just have them collapse and fall flat on their face.

If this is the way it all plays out, I guess that I should not all all be surprised because with all the high hopes I've ever had for them year after year, that is the deflated way they traditionally leave me feeling anyhow making me wonder why I keep allowing myself to be fooled, and time and again give them the benefit of the doubt.

The Steelers game seems to obviously be a sneak peek that the regular clown filled circus is back in town preparing us for the inevitable.

Sure, so much has to go wrong first before this scenario plays out, but I'm starting now to prepare myself to avoid any last game of the season shock that can only disappoint.

Again, I sure hope that my present premonitions are dramatically out of whack and I at least get the chance of seeing the Bengals makes fools of themselves during the playoffs only to keep the false hopes suspension alive for just a little longer just to have them disappoint me later on down the road than sooner.

The Bengals are home where they are 6-0 and have scored 40 points each the last three home games. They will win both games and Baltimore will lose both and the Bengals will win the division by three games. Mark it down and I will eat crow with ketchup if I'm wrong.

So many "fans" overreact over a loss that was, as bad as they looked, really only two special teams play. Their worst loss all year was by 11 points. Two of their 5 losses on the road went to overtime.

I just jope they can find a punter that's at least half way decent and someone to be a competent holder on FG's and extra points.

I've been so burned over the past 40 years that I have a permanent brand on my butt in shape of a B

I'm hoping Baltimore beats New England next week. If the Bengals can't win out at home they don't need to be in the playoffs and if they do that would give them the two seed, correct?

I bet you have been waiting to see this for awhile. They have basically made you eat your words all year, and others even started saying the samethings I said before the year even started on how talented this team was. Which it is, and has still shown it even through all the injuries. So give it up man and give it a rest on that.

Also I was the one who was telling people on here that they were looking to far ahead only talking about seeding. I said a few times I would feel more comfortable once they officially lock up a playoff spot because I saw this dang scenario possibly happening. People in this city when things are good can end up looking way to far ahead, and when a bad thing happens its the end of the world. We need to just let it play out, its the NFL. This week things are bad, and by after these next games everything could look great. Could possibly have a playoff spot locked up and the 2 seed, or possibly have the division locked up. We shall see.
