December 16, 201312 yr If your going to rip on an EMMY award winning announcer, at least get his name spelled correctly. It's Cris. Chris or Cris, he still sucks.
December 16, 201312 yr Author I am a big Lions fan tonight. If the Lions win, then all the Bengals have to do is beat the Vikings to clinch the division. If the Ravens don't win tonight, then I am a huge Pats fan next week haha.
December 16, 201312 yr Can someone explain to me why the Bengals started the wrong Rey at MLB? What more does 57 have to do to win the job?
December 16, 201312 yr Can someone explain to me why the Bengals started the wrong Rey at MLB? What more does 57 have to do to win the job? I completely agree. Crazy stat I saw last night. Rey (#58) is the only LB on the Bengals roster that was drafted. Pretty crazy.
December 16, 201312 yr Anyone else think it's time for Collinsworth to go? He's borderline unwatchable... He's one of my favorite announcers.
December 16, 201312 yr To answer the above question about pass interference, regardless of whether the ball was tipped or not, I am 95% certain that there can't be pass interference on a receiver behind the line of scrimmage. So tipped ball or not, Troy can hit the guy behind the line of scrimmage and it isn't a penalty.

So tipped ball or not, Troy can hit the guy behind the line of scrimmage and it isn't a penalty. Very true. This again touches on Gruden's ineptness. When you have a team that plays defense like the Steelers do, those quick passes like that one aren't going to work, especially when you have a QB that has a tendency to get balls batted down at the line....So naturally, Gruden called 4-5 of them.
December 16, 201312 yr Huber is out for the year. Jaw will be wired 4-6 weeks, obviously not going to be cleared to play with it wired shut. Fractured vertebrae in his neck too. Just spoke to a family member and they are waiting for MRI results to determine if it was past neck damage or recent.
December 16, 201312 yr Several quick points: I thought the no call on Troy should have been pass interference but admit I don't know the rule so I am sure there is something I am missing. Peko is average at best but I think a great team leader. As for last night, he had the Flu according to Bengals.com and since our depth at DT is down he has to play more. He was obviously tired last night, even early in the game. I saw him doubled over sucking air and he did look real lazy throughout most of the game. Collinsworth was saying that if a team can't make big plays (and we all know Dalton isn't a big play QB) that the Steelers defense was tough. Actually what Collinsworth was saying had some depth to it and it was clear he did do his homework. I am not a Rey fan but he is pretty solid against the run and Vincent Ray is more of an in space player and a pass defender. I assume the Steelers no huddle stopped Cincy from subbing like they wanted to.

Al responded with something along the lines of..."well, those plays did happen and they count." That's like saying, if Peyton Manning didn't throw so many TDs, the Broncos offense wouldn't be very good.
December 16, 201312 yr "You know, if the Steelers didn't give up so many big plays, this would be a good defense" That's the kind of amazing insight Collinsworth was giving the viewership last night....Thanks Chris. :lol2: I did hear him say this. I thought to myself "Ya think?"

He has a different style and that was right down his wheelhouse. Essentially, it is not what he says that is important, it is what he means. Cris got Al back if I remember, he told everyone Al was a Cardinals fan and I don't think Al liked it too much. Do this for me if it interests you, when Cris "commentates" ask yourself "what point is Cris trying to get across?" If you do that, you may find he is really good (and a little sneaky) at what he does.
December 16, 201312 yr Author Who Dey, Who Dey--When Dey gonna win a big game????????? They did against the Packers, they did against the Pats, against the Colts. They already beat Steelers are on Monday Night this year. They also did last year in Pittsburgh when the winner got to make the playoffs and the losers season was over. The lost a game last night and looked bad doing it. I know its a lot easier to remember the bad and forget the good. But lets not confuse perception with reality right now.
