What about suites for the coaches? What is capacity? I've been to Georgetown before but it has been some time.

Mayfield you are right about BG not so much. I am looking at a map of the state as we speak. You can say south central but that is being generous.

Draw three lines evenly across (or perpendicular) with the state. Bowling Green does not fit within the west area, they are in the central third. It was more of a joke on my part because we always kid about the name Western Kentucky University despite it not being in the western part of the state.

I don't think they'd ever reach capacity, they have a lot of stands on both sides of the field. They also could put seats behind both endzones if they had to plus they have that hill at one end of the fieldd that could be filled.

Their website states 5,000 seat capacity expandable to 20,000. Not sure how you expand that much and not be crappy seats.

For future knowledge:

 

Western Kentucky University and Eastern Kentucky University were broken off from the University of Kentucky back in the early 1900s because the UK president didn't want UK to be a teaching college and the state felt it would be better to have teaching colleges spread out. They merged the education departments into the existing colleges in Bowling Green and Richmond and named them Western (because it was west of Lexington) and Eastern (because it was east of Lexington).

 

I know this doesn't do anything about travel burdens for state championships but I did want to clarify why they are named what they are named.

EKU doesn't have the hotel space in town to host according to those in the know. Many teams and fans would/could stay in Lexington.

EKU would have been a nightmare this weekend with the rain and bad conditions as well. Not a lot of covered seating options in Richmond.

 

Kentucky State needs to take football more seriously and build a nice 11K seat Stadium with a nice pressbox, club level seating, and quality dressing rooms HAHA
