The Truth About Andy Dalton

Featured Replies

I get tired of always reading "it depends on Andy". Of course it does, the same as with every team. It depends on the QB on every team. Andy will be taking this franchise to the playoffs for the 3rd straight year. Something that has NEVER been done. Yes, he is still young and is not perfect but he is getting WINS. I hope he gets hot at the right time and I hope those around him play their best at the same time!!

He had a great game today

This is what's so frustrating about Dalton! He played absolutely great today! Which is what frustrates some of us and what I am talking about. This offense has many weapons on offense when the quarterback can hit open guys. When Dalton is consistent and hitting receivers when their open this offense is so dangerous. That's why we think the Bengals should possibly addresses the position depending on this playoff run. If they go deep in the playoffs then only draft one in the middle rounds. If he plays horrible and they lose again in first round then you take a look at a Cutler

Today was great though and when guyswwere open he hit them. Loved seeing it today.

Of course I don't start him and he goes off for 32 points today...He kills me either way...if I start him or bench him.

Hope today signaled the start of another hot streak from him.

If that is the case then I hope it last double the length as his first 3 game streak because when the streak ends it is ugly lol.

If you ever start him nagain I am going to TP your house. It's because of you he went off. You better put him on your fantasy IR list.

Stats schmats!

Can we get back to Chortles' girlfriend?

Big key, the guys were open in this game. Yes, he has missed some open guys from time to time but most of the time people talk about "bad Andy" it's because those around him didn't block or the receivers cut routes short or there were no separation. Not all Andy's fault when offense struggles.

Also, much better game plan by Gruden. He finally started using the middle of the field again instead of all sideline passes.

The guy out there yesterday is capable of winning in the playoffs. This is the year to do it too b/c the AFC isn't as strong as it could be. Manning has a history of struggling in the playoffs especially in the cold. NE losing Gronk really hurts their offense. KC has been fairly lucky and even though they are far better than the 6 seed the Bengals will probably miss them, but if they see them it will be at home. They really could have a pretty special playoff run.

I disagree with guys only being open today. I sit in the end zone for each home game, and we have multiple guys consistently getting open. It was amazing to watch how during his hot streak he was not staring down one receiver, and was finding the open guys. Then when at the games he struggled you see him staring down receivers and not throwing to the open guys. Or if they are open he would miss them. Today he did what good NFL QB's do and he was able to hit the receivers when they are open. Thats why people complain about him because besides yesterday there are to many times when his throws are no where close to an open receiver. Yesterday he did what a good NFL QB is suppose to do, and that was hitting a WR when they are open. The weapons are there and do get open, it comes down to his play. Its not like he is playing with no talent on offense. Yesterday he took advantage of it like he did in October.

You can agree to disagree are you want. However Sit in the endzone of games and you will see what I mean. Shoot if you are watching this Chicago game and you will see what people complain. See how the Bears QB is at least putting the ball close enough to where a guy like Jeffrey can go up and make a play on it. We have one of the best receivers in football at doing that, and how many times have we seen Dalton not even be able to put it close to Green and that is even when he is open he still completely misses on the games he is off which is half the time. Which that is what most fans complain about him, is the passes that they see him completely miss when guys are open. When you sit in the end zone you see the passes he misses that he never even attempts that are open.

Yesterday he did what he does when he is on, and that is when a guy was open he actually made good passes.

^Agree to disagree.

Apparently not.
