The Truth About Andy Dalton

Featured Replies

He's been in tight games with Memphis, Houston and South Florida where he threw for a total of 2 TDs and 3 INT. Real murders row. Just screams of a guy ready to win a Super Bowl next year...

The only thing "NFL Ready" about Bortles is his girlfriend...

I seem to recall seeing a stat a week or two ago that Dalton to Green is one of the most accurate deep ball combos in the league this season, so I'm gonna have to go ahead and disagree with you here.

GT hit the nail right on the head with this one. Yes I heard the same stat and that says more about Green. You have seen the same games as all of us. Out of all these deep connections, how many could we say that was a good throw. It usually was Green having to come back to get it, jumping up to make the play, etc.

The real question should be how many of those deep throws would have been touchdowns if Dalton could hit him in stride.

Oh boy... :lol2:

And by the time that QB is ready to contribute at a winning level the rest of the talent on the roster will have missed their window. Doesn't solve anything.

I'm assuming you not answering my reply listing all the guys that have recently competed for conference titles and super bowls in their first couple of years means you know this comment was wrong so I will ask again: If you feel Dalton can't win the SB and you think the roster is good enough to win it without him why not draft a guy you think can win the SB? Is the goal titles or just competing?

1. Relax, I didn't see your post. Anyways, the only one of that group that won a SB is Big Ben, right? He's much better than Dalton.

2. I usually dismiss anything you post regarding Dalton as you're judgment is clouded by your obsession on arm strength.

3. There isn't a QB out there capable of competing for Super Bowl in the next couple seasons. There definitely isn't one that is more capable of doing so in that time frame than Dalton.

I haven't said anything about his arm strength in a while even though it isn't good enough.

Flacco didn't win a title?

Did anyone think those guys would all compete for conference titles as early as they did? Notice most of the guys that competed right away weren't top 5 picks. They went to teams that were very good everywhere else but not so good at QB. You really can't say it takes that much time for QB's to compete now after last years SB had a guy in year two that only made 10 starts and Seattle is widely regarded as the best contender in year 2 with a 3rd round QB. Get the right guy on the right roster and you can compete.

Now if you want to argue that the Gals may not draft the right guy b/c it's a crap shoot I would agree with that. I will not agree that it takes a few years to develop a guy though.

If you didn't know what I was talking about originally, consider yourself put on notice: Lindsay Duke, aka Blake Bortles' Girlfriend. Certainly NFL Starting QB caliber.

You're welcome.

It only took Flacco 6 years, right? So shouldn't we give Dalton a little more time?

Knew that would be your answer. Year 1 AFC title game and two playoff wins. Playoff winning percentage through the roof. Dalton? You are the one that said this roster is great except at QB. If that is the case I'm showing you guys that's teams performed in the playoffs very successfully with rookie and 2nd year guys. That old tale of developing guys is gone.

1. Those Raven teams were much more talented than the past 2 seasons Bengals teams.

2. This year's Bengals team is exponentially more talented than the prior 2.

3. Dalton is a 3rd year QB that has led his team to 3 straight playoff appearances. Not many teams can boast QBs that have accomplished that. Matt Ryan lost his first 2-3 playoff games, and those were at home. Should the Falcons be looking to move on from him?

4. If they win a playoff game this year (which is extremely likely given their level of play at home), will your crusade to replace Dalton finally end?

There will be a guy out there, and that is Cutler. Cutler definitely is a better QB than Dalton. Yeah he will make his mistakes to on trying to force some throws, just like Dalton. However unlike Dalton Cutler brings the ability to produce more big plays. If Dalton was better at protecting the ball, then you might have an argument that Cutler wouldn't be an upgrade. However both QB's will make mistakes, but only one would bring another dimension to this offense and that is Cutler. The only one downgrade to having Cutler would be that he is injury prone, so would be taking a chance there.

Also if they do draft another QB, it doesn't mean it sets them back a few years. QB now can come in as rookies and lead their team. Now drafting a QB is never a guarntee, but that could happen. That is why if they don't go after say a Cutler, drafting a QB should happen. Doesn't mean they would automatically start over Dalton though, but could push him for time if he has play like he has the last 4 games.

What Jay Cutler do you watch? He is not better than Dalton. All he does better than Dalton is he has a stronger arm. That's it.

And overall better receivers oh and a better back. Probably a better O Line too.

Not sure about the overall better receivers and O-line. Definetly a better back.

Who do the Bengals have that is anywhere close to Alshon Jeffery? Bennett is every bit the TE that either Gresham or Eifert is.
