November 26, 201312 yr 70-ish hear round. My house is over 100 years old with original windows and french doors, and 12ft ceilings. I normally tape up the french doors, but haven't gotten it done yet. I sleep in fleece yoga pants, a T-shirt, sweatshirt and boot socks under a sheet, blanket, and 2 quilts. November 26, 201312 yr Upstairs is always on 64 or 65 (kind of hard to tell) during the winter. Downstairs is on a programmable 65 when we are out and sleeping, 68 when we are home. I really like the programmable, because I can set it to turn the heat up a few minutes before my alarm goes off in the morning which reduces the temptation to hit the snooze and jump back under the covers....that and the programmable coffee maker are musts for me to get up at 4:20 weekday mornings.

The programmable coffee maker would be the #1 love for me. I get up at the same time as you and the first thing I do is walk my dog. It is pure bliss to come back home to my freshly brewed coffee!
November 26, 201312 yr Actually my house is 3 feet above the ground with very little insulation what so ever. Im just never home to need heat. :thumb: that explains it.
November 26, 201312 yr 58 at night and during the workday; 64 when we are home. Gas heat, good insulation and a whole house humidifier keeps things comfortable enough. Very low utility bills.
November 26, 201312 yr Thermostats at 60. Have ventless gas fireplaces in family room, living room, and basement. Mrs C turns them on as needed to warm a room. Bedrooms are always 60, I like it cold when I'm sleeping.

November 26, 201312 yr Im blaming Lawnboy for this because I can...................................So with this thread today when I got home I went to turn on the heat, and nothing. Went outside checked the tank, at 40% so were good there. Can't get the pilot light to make a flame. Lawnboy I blame you, or VOR being that I didn't pick against Beechwood Friday and they lost.
November 26, 201312 yr 68 most all the time. I can guarantee you we won't be turning our thermostat down below 60 or anywhere near it. If for no other reason, if it were that cold in our house, Mrs 2C would never take her clothes off and that is a sacrifice I am not willing to make to save a few bucks on the electric bill.

November 26, 201312 yr I don't set my thermostat in the winter. I simply turn the A/C off. :banana: :irked: :lol2:
