Do the Knights have a chance or will the Birds roll over them by 5 TDs or more?

Highlands is still one of the finest high school football teams/programs in this part of the country...that's a fact that hasn't changed for many years and may be the standard for one more year. But one of the real "beauties" of high school athletics consistently remains that you don't have to be the best team in the state...you just have to be the best team on this field on this night. With that equation, nearly every team has a shot on a given night....programs like Highlands, Trinity, St X, Mayfield, and so on, and so on make that a very difficult premise to work with, but the magic of a bunch of 15, 16, 17, 18 year olds can occasionally defy the "traditional odds" and provide an outcome that wasn't forseen...Highlands will likely be a prohibitive favorite to not only deal the Knights a rough night but also whoever comes after that...I will be the "traditional optimist" and anticipate (and pray for) something to happen in that game that alters the outcome...I'm picking my boys by 7 in a close, but monumental, upset of the Birds, and give the Ft Thomas community something to talk about for years to come (the 17-0 game in 2007 continues to be a thorn in someone's side up there)..c u Friday...

Great post but 2005 was the year you are looking for. Different LexCath coach and now a totally different animal in the Highlands program is what you will be getting next week. This is not the same program LexCath shutout in 2005. Good luck to the Knights next week. I am sorry I will have to miss this one. I have other obligations next weekend.

Highlands should have a easy win might have to catch this game.

According to Letton' date=' the Knights owe the Birds for the last two years. Lest we forget - LexCath 3:53.[/quote']

Actually according to Mitchell.

Highlands is clicking on all cylinders.

Lex Cath 31

Highlands 30

Perfect...:thumb:

This does have the makings of a classic trap game. LexCath a big underdog. At home. Cold weather forecasted. I think the coaching staff at Highlands has seen this recipe before, and know how to avoid the trap. Still, it's why they play the game.:ylsuper:

Highlands 41-14.

If Lex Cath beats Highlands it would go down as a huge upset because I give them no chance of winning (ex. Murray over Caldwell) But thats why they play the game. Highlands wins 35-7.
