Male outplayed the Rocks. The Trinity staff was outcoached. The squad was outworked by the Bulldogs. Male deserved the victory and I hope they win it all to resurrect the "Big Three" discussions and preserve the honor of the Super District! Scott County will now get to venture to Preston Highway this Friday. The victor will travel to Bowling Green to face the Meade County/Butler survivor. Hopefully this ends the talk of a need to split private from public for the foreseeable future. Beatty coached Trinity teams fall to 61-4 in the post-season. As I explained to my son, the occasional loss allows one to have greater appreciation for the wins.

 

We will have to live with wearing 2012 Championship t-shirts for another year. Highlands will undoubtedly take the lead in number of all-time state football titles. :meh:Thanks to the seniors and the staffers for another interesting football season. The underclassmen will have a better understanding of what is needed to achieve their ultimate goal next season. :thumb:Next season's battle(s) with Male will be highly anticipated. :popcorn:

The only losses to Kentucky teams were recorded versus Male-2.

Trinity finished 6-6 with losses to Ensworth of Nashville, Colerain of Cincinnati, Moeller of Cincinnati, Lawrence Cental of Indianapolis area and Male twice.

I think a lot of folks would welcome that with open arms. I'm in that party. Competition breeds success. The top 3 classes are very watered down right now. Hell do 4 classes and give an option for 1vs2 and 3vs4 after it's all said and done. That would be awesome.

I think it's boys in general. Cov Caths boys yelled and beat the stands while our band took the field. They yelled and threw stuff at passers by. It's any rivalry and its young boys. It's kind of a right of passage to act like idiots. Isn't that what being a kid is all about?

A chant my school did against another(basketball regional finals 2003) that I just couldn't participate in and I still shake my head. Of that crowd chanting, people would likely drop their jaws if they viewed footage of them doing it. It's all about pushing the envelope at that age.

Male had a remarkable achievement this year. They beat St. Xavier and Trinity consecutively TWICE this season. I don't know if that feat has ever been accomplished prior to last night.

I don't really want to say congrats to Male! LoL!! But since they won..I will. Congrats.

 

I was not at the game but listened to it on the radio (boy was that painful.) Sounded like an all around bad game especially on offense.

 

Unfortunately losing is a part of life. T seniors keep your heads up. You played one of the toughest schedules in school history. Carry on!!

This was the first year I can recall Beatty using an "athlete" at quarterback. Bonafon had been a wide receiver previously, correct? Obviously Bonafon is a terrific player but is it possible that the offense wasn't a dominant as usual because there wasn't an old-school Trinity signal caller? Or am I way off.

Dead on...Reggie is an amazing, amazing athlete, with crazy good tools, just not a great decision maker, and missed on a lot of open looks.
