very political, some have been picked 3 times. A sort of bias pick in who you know.

I'm no conspiracy theorist, but you're dead on with this one. There's a guy from EKY whose drawn 4 times. Not only are the odds terribly against it, he has a relative in the process. Shame really for everyone who essentially donates every year.

Anyone else on here sign up for the drawing?

We are all in! Helped a buddy at work apply for the first time today.

I hope you draw!

I hate to think this is true, that it's rigged not your, but I hear more and more stories like this every year.

I sent my $20 donation.

Haha, I had a buddy of mine say the same thing when we were talking about the drawing on Saturday night.

Anybody going after archery tags? (I'm not.)

My understanding is that the percentage of bowhunters coming home empty handed is pretty darn high. I don't want to do ANYTHING to increase my likelihood of actually getting drawn for the elk hunt and then coming home empty-handed.

Hope I get it, maybe I will get lucky.

I didn't. It would be a thrill to take one with a bow, but I am not ready for that challenge I don't think.

Same here........definitely. Seeing as I've never managed to take a whitetail with a bow, I'm certainly not about to plan on taking down an elk.

When do the lucky winners get notified?

The drawing is some time in May. And my understanding is there's no notification - you have to check with the KDFW yourself.

It's like every other draw. You have to check the results, put in your social and it'll tell you your status.

I don't fish and don't turkey hunt every year, but I always buy the sportsman license to help the wildlife department.
