Who has more athletes - Frankfort or Beechwood?

I would guess Frank but Bw has more sound football players. I tend to feel from watching the better 1A teams play that most years Mf and Bw have more sound or a larger number of above average players. Some years Mf and Bw also have the great athletes but I don't think that is the case as much this year. I think I may have answered a question aimed at MHS if so maybe he will respond as well

In 2012 Russ held us to our lowest point total of the season in a 27-7 Cards win that was a fight.

In 2012 Mf beat Bw 35-14. But that Bw game we both new Mf missed its chances in the first half. I think Bw might have been better but I never felt much worry about getting beat at Bw. Russ on the other hand seemed like they might beat us as they dominated us for awhile. Maybe its becasue their coach is a former Mayfield coach and I have a fear he will figure us out. IDK they just seem like they could beat us and I have never felt real worried about BW winning before or durning our games other than the 2011 game that was a toss up but one I figured we would win. Again this year they got after us and had me concerned

I would tend to agree with this.

I agree with your statement. That has been the issues in the Frankfort /BW game its Depth. (dont mean to high jack the thread)

Mayfield by 14.

Who has more athletes - Frankfort or Beechwood?

I'd say Frankfort from a pure athleticism and speed standpoint. Beechwood typically has the better line play and more depth than the Panthers and take over the games in the latter stages. The Tigers occassionally have decent speed, but, I think it gets a little overblown by there fanbase. Frankfort, on the other hand, usually has 3-4 guys with legit 4.4 to 4.5 speed.

Now, in saying that, my above comment about Frankfort in the next round was just poking a little fun and trying to get a rise out of you. It worked, didn't it? In reality, I think it'll once again be a Beechwood/Mayfield matchup in the semi's, but, honestly, if it ended up a Russellville/Frankfort semi, I wouldn't be all that surprised. Either of those teams are more than capable of winning these games.

Weather and field condition should play to russelville's advantage which should make a tuff game even tuffer for the cardinals.

Good luck tonight Mayfield! TCB!!!

Sorry, but I can't type in red (the team from Westwood is red). This time of year is Orange only, baby!!!

Weather and field conditions are going to be a factor across the state. The potential for upsets is higher tonight than they would be under dry weather conditions.

I remember Beechwood playing at Bellevue in 2009 on a wet field. It was close the whole way and a one score game late till our QB finally broke off about a 60 yard TD run to make the final score 20-8. I said after that game that if we face Bellevue in the playoffs on the Beechwood turf, the game wouldn't be close because Beechwood's speed would be more effective. Beechwood faced Bellevue in the playoffs and was never challenged in a 41-20 win. Wet fields take away speed advantages and favor size. If it is close in speed and/or size, the field isn't as big a factor.

GO PANTHERS!

I posted a subliminal message in there.

Oates = Hall and Oates

Hall and Oates had a song called "I Can't Go For That"

"I Can't Go For That" is how I feel about picking Russellville to beat Mayfield.

I agree, I removed red from my lexicon of colors. I now refer to it as "the color formerly known as red".

Good luck to Mayfield tonight. Cardinal Pride School Wide.
