For the past few weeks, I've had pain in my chest area. When it first came on, I didn't think much of it because it was the first time I felt it, but it has continued and now has me a bit worried. It's a difficult pain to describe... It doesn't feel like a muscle, and I feel it when a look a certian way, or reach a certain way... I feel it right in the middle of my chest, like it's something to do with my sternum. Recently, like within the past week, I've noticed and almost nauseated feeling. Never gotten sick, but it's definitely uncomfortable. The nausea feeling isn't constant, but just here and there, and never very severe. I've had back pain for what seems like years now, and I don't know if all that could be related or not. I've reached the point where I'm going to schedule a doctor appointment next week to see if they can figure out whats going on.

Does anybody have any idea what may be going on? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

First, maybe you should not wait until next week to see a doctor. Second, is a hiatal hernia a possibility?

I should have added... On the nausea part, my girlfriend has been sick lately, flu like symptoms. So that could be completely unrelated.

As for a hernia, I'm not sure. I do lift heavy things occasionally at work, but not on a regular basis.

Def be seen as soon as you can to see if you need a chest scan. The body usually doesn't lie, hopefully, it's something minor.

I had similar symptoms about 15 years ago....was intercostal chondritis. Fits the chest part anyway. I urge you to go to the MD though. Long term back pain can be something more serious.

I found this condition online when searching myself. Certainly fits whats going on with me. The article I saw mentioned that twisting and/or bending over and reaching can cause pain, and that's what's going on with me.

Chest pain and nausea should never be ignored. I would not wait to call my doctor. Do it today.

i agree. What is the reason for waiting? If you are going to go, then go now and find out what is going on.

Already made the appointment. :thumb:

Deuce, you're a smart guy, get off the computer and go to the doctor! Don't mess with chest issues and certainly don't ask these knuckleheads (myself included) for medical advice. Your girlfriend should slap you! :ohbrother:

Saying a prayer for you, Deuce. Hope everything's okay. Keep us updated.

So...........what happened?

Couldn't get an appointment until Wednesday. I'll let you guys know then. Haven't had any troubles since I posted this, though.

Maybe you just needed to get it off your chest. (Pun intended)
