Reagan and his economic people were big time fiscal conservative. They didn't get everything they wanted but compromised with the Dems to get the big things like De-Regulation and Military Buildup.

November 4, 201312 yr I know Christie is seen as not conservative on gun rights and gay marriage, are there other areas he is seen as middle or left on, are they mostly social issues? I believe he is Pro Life. I know the areas most conservatives like him on is fiscal areas. I believe he has cut New Jersey's spending quite a bit and shrank their budget deficit considerably. I could certainly handle that on the federal side of things.

He's pro-life & claims to be anti-gay marriage, though some conservatives aren't satisfied with some things he's done (or not done) on the latter. Taking on unions made him very appealing to a lot of conservatives as well.
November 4, 201312 yr George W wasn't exactly a fiscal conservative. GOP hasn't really had one of those since Reagan have they? No they have not. That's my point. This idea republicans only elect only pure conservatives is a myth in the media.

First Question - 0 The Federal Debt was 994 billion when he took office and was 2.7 trillion when he left. He raised the debt ceiling more than any President in history. Fiscal Conservative? Do the Math. Do you really want to do this again? He cut taxes. He spent money and won the cold war . People had more money in their pockets in the 80s. He cut a lot of domestic programs and domestic income taxes. He also had a democrat led congress that demanded spending increases as a compromise. Reaganomics in its pure fiscal conservatism led to two decades of economic and job growth.
November 5, 201312 yr I like Rand's idea's more and Christie's leadership more. Still a lot to be decided for me as of now between the two. I like Senator Paul more, but think Gov. Christie's got the personality/makeup for the POTUS. Don't see myself voting for any ® other than Senator Paul. Just don't think I can align my views enough with any others. :idunno:
