Mason County 34 Scott 21

So much for Scott blowing out untested Mason County.

Just the second undefeated season in school history, per Danny Weddle.

Congrats to Coach Buchanan & the Royals! :thumb:

Scott calling someone else untested is, umm, interesting. Still no wins for the Eagles vs a team with a winning record.

Mason is legitimized.

No doubt!!!

Congrats Coach Buchanan!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats to Coach Buchanan and Mason County. That is a great story for the seniors on that team. They are 2-8 as sophomores, 8-5 as juniors and undefeated as seniors. A lot to be proud of there.

Rashon Nelson with 28 carries for 104 yards & 2 TD's, per Danny Weddle.

Also per Danny Weddle, QB Jake O'Mara finished 14-19 for 221 yards & 2 TD's.

On the other side of things, this is a disappointing ending to a very good regular season for Scott. The Eagles need to learn from these last three games, figure out some adjustments and use the playoffs to prove themselves.

Very entertaining game. Both teams made several miscues that could have either pushed Mason to a bigger lead or gotten Scott back into the game.

Scott looked like a team that has a hard time playing catch-up; extremely limited playbook. Castleman did have 140+ rushing yards; the QB was 6-10 with about 80 yards passing. Play of the game - O'Mara standing in the pocket and throwing a strike to Tee King, 75-yard TD reception. Also nice to see family friend Drew Spangler with another TD reception. O-line did their job late giving Nelson enough room to drive down the field and score the clincher with just under 2 minutes to play.

Good test for the Royals heading into the playoffs.

So much for Scott running over Mason County. Royals have a great chance at a long playoff run.

Maybe. Their first game will be a cakewalk against Powell County. They'll be a home favorite against either Garrard or Lewis in the second round. But I can't see any scenario in which they go win a regional final at Bourbon County.

Mason County out played and out coached Scott. Scott got whipped tonight plain and simple. One team looked liked they cared and the other didn't. The score was closer than the game really was. Congrats to the Royal players and coaching staff. MC coach did a great job at having his team ready to play tonight and the other sidelined looked like they were just going through the motions. Very impressed with the Mason QB. The kid throws a really nice ball.

Congratulations to Mason County on a perfect regular season and best of luck in the playoffs!
