theguru Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 The Bengals quarterback was named AFC offensive player of the month, after leading his team to a perfect 4-0 record, with a 116.8 passer rating in those games. He’s thrown for 1,246 yards, 11 touchdowns and just three interceptions over that span, leading to wins over the Patriots, Bills, Lions and Jets. Andy Dalton named AFC offensive player of month | ProFootballTalk
theguru Posted October 31, 2013 Author Posted October 31, 2013 If this is the new Andy Dalton the Bengals are one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl.
UKMustangFan Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 Fun Fact #1 about Andy Dalton: He shares a birthday (albeit one year later) with me. No wonder I defend him so much. :lol2: I completely agree with you Guru. If he keeps this up, there is a very small group of teams capable of beating the Bengals.
Voice of Reason Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 With Dalton's success, the Bengals biggest offensive concern is their struggle running the ball.

I said all along that Dalton was the key because all the other pieces were there. I was hoping he could just play at least good, because I thought that would give them a chance. However he has been playing great, with him playing like that they definitely are one of the favorites! Its been fun to watch!
littleluck55 Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Not bad for one of the worst qb's in the league with no arm.

5 STAR Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Don't look now, but there is something stinking up Miami and it ain't the Dolphins.
Hellbird Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Well Dalton came back down to earth tonight and showed why he will never be one to lead this team to wins in crunch time. 4 turnovers he is responsible for and then takes a sack for a safety to end the game. What an idiot
Wireman Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Well tonight he had 4 turnovers and a rating of 55.4.
5 STAR Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Not this week GuRu, 3 picks (one a 92 yard pick 6), 1 fumble and game losing safety. Wow, what a difference 4 days make. Miami Dolphins are 6-0 all time on Halloween night. Fun fact: only third time in NFL history that a team has lost a game by a 2 point safety in overtime.
Hellbird Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Well at least Dalton equaled his INT's over the span Guru talked about.

What an idiot One INT was a perfectly thrown ball that Sanu didn't catch. Dalton also threw for 338 yards, completed 60% of his passes and converted a high percentage on 3rd down. Dalton led the team to the game winning field goal in the final 2 minutes but the defense didn't make it stand up for the win. Way, way, way too much focus on Dalton. Yes, overall he was not good tonight but he didn't lose that game and he made enough plays to win it if the rest of the team had done their jobs.

Yes, overall he was not good tonight but he didn't lose that game and he made enough plays to win it if the rest of the team had done their jobs. I'm not that upset with Dalton. I know he is what he is. He will make some good 5 yard throws and some horrible deep balls with a coup0le great drives tossed in there now and then with also a couple really bad decisions which lead to turnovers tossed in there. Andy is Dandy, nothing more nothing less. He is not an Elite QB nor will he ever become one. He will have his streaks of fooling people but will always come back down to earth and show us he hasn't changed. IT is what it is. He is servicable until we draft a franchise QB, when will that be? Only MB knows the answer, but until then we are stuck with Dalton so may as well ride the rollercoaster that he is. With all that said, I will disagree with you on he didn't lose the game....yes the defense gave up the tying FG with 1:30 mins left in the game....it was a FG. The defense didn't throw some horrible passes 3 times we were inside the 10 yard line last night. The defense didn't come away with only 1 TD when inside the redzone 4 times. The defense didn't turn the ball over 4 times. You want to say Sanu's int wasn't Daltons fault (which i disagree with because Dalton shouldn't of threw that ball in teh frist place) But I'll give you the Sanu int. Dalton is still responsible for 3 other turnovers plus a safety which resulted in 9 points for the dolphins. Those 3 and the safety were directly contributed to Andy Dalton, that is 9 points. Yet it wasn't Dalton's fault? I disagree.
