It's not if their career ended today, it's when they're done playing. I think all 3 have shown a ton of potential that could possibly turn into a HOF career as the grow as players.

I thought we were talkingabout QB's now playing that has put forth a career worthy of the Hall of Fame, not guessing who may be worthy 10 years from now when they have been in the league long enough to build a hall of fame resume.

 

If we are tossing names out, I want to add Teddy Bridgewater and Drew Barker to the mix j/k but you know what I mean.

Trying to figure out who didn't vote for Peyton. There are 14 votes for Brady and only 13 for Peyton. There is zero argument that can be made to justify not voting for him.

Definite:

I like this list. I would addd Rivers to the "maybe" category. I will defer on the 2-3 year QB's.....too early to tell. Big Ben's star is falling IMO.

It's the Golden age of rules set up to help QB's and WR's. I think the football world will have to adjust what is considered to be HOF numbers accordingly.

Great point. I also think the numbers for RB's will drop off until some rules are changed because it is too easy to pass in todays league. Rb's aren't the commodity that they used to be.

Of the very young guys Staffords two years really stand out with 10,000 yards passing. This guy could mimic Marino in that he puts up stupid numbers on a team,that does not win it all. A lengthy run of 12 years puts him at 35 years old. Playing that long at that rate of passing puts him in even without a ring.

I am in complete agreement with this HB. Rodgers only needs 2-3 more years like he has had and he is in. Big Ben and ELI both will be highly considered for Super Bowls alone, whether we agree or not.

 

The remaining probably will have a couple, but they need a few more years to even consider.

I think he'll ultimately make it, just because of two SB's. But again, he's never been won an MVP, never won a SB MVP or even been considered one of the top 2 or 3 QB's in the league. I wouldn't even say he's ever been the best player on his team. He has passed for over 30k yards, and been super steady. He's just one of those guys I see as being really good, just not HOF good.

What separates Ben and Eli in your mind?

 

Eli has more career passing yards and touchdowns. And has two Super Bowl mvps to go with his Super Bowl wins.

I'm not so sure about Big Ben or Eli. The two rings certainly help and put them in a rare category. But statistically, they haven't put up huge numbers in an era when huge numbers are pretty common. Also no MVP's for either and I don't think either ever had even a year (let alone several) where they were considered one of the top 3 or 4 QB's. I think they both need one more ring and a few big years to be sure things.

 

I think the only sure bets right now are Peyton, Brees, and Brady. Rodgers is close, but needs a few more big years and/or another ring.

Eli Manning will make it because of his rings and his name.
