I live 25 minutes from Elder and have family that go there!

Elder was fantastic as always...The atmosphere is incredible and the fans are first class imo.

 

No excuses here, Highlands made plays, Elder made plays, and both did not make plays, the bottom line is the Birds will be just fine.:thumb:

Wow!!! What a bad call on the Venneman late in the game. The play happened right in front of me and he caught the ball..That right there was the difference in the game. If they call that a completion HHS is inside the 20 with 2 minutes left.. Horrible call!!

 

I was at the game sitting in that end zone. It was extremely close but it did actually seem like when he came down with it, the ball was in his hands but looked like it was trapped by the ground. He really laid out for it.

 

Great game - there were stretches were each team looked unstoppable with their plan of attack. Great chess match. I know this particular Highlands team is highly proficient with the pass, but I thought their run game was working and in that last two minutes, could have gone to that a little more. They only had half the field to go and all three timeouts.

Very impressive game by HHS. They were the more physicall of the two teams. They bruised and battered the Panthers. If the coaches switch sidelines I guarentee Elder would have won by more than 3.

 

I have to ask why doesn't the Hayes kid play more. He is a very explosive player, I would think he would be very effective as a change of pace back.

Hard to understand this but Highlands Defense played a helluva game imo. They basically gave up 20 pts imo.

They were not responsible for the fumble in endzone for Td and they scored a "no brainer" Safety that was not called but was.

 

Elder played good enough to win and pulled it out but Iam sorry folks Ramsey is a horrible coach imo...But obviously good enough to win...:thumb:

Agree on the run game and also someone told that two guys were taking pictures for Highlands on that play right on the field and said that the ball hit the ground on that play. They had a picture of it.

I will say this....that team right there will roll thru the playoffs...Big statement made. Defense is on top of there game. No shame in that loss..played well enough to win. No excuses here Elder did what they do at the pit.

The safety that didn't happen was set up by the touchback on the interception that wasn't called vs spotting it at the 1 yard line.

Two names the Panthers won't forget are Feggins and Wrobleski. Feggins at points carried the offense and TW made hits on 21 so hard I could feel the thud in my chest. Felt like refs kept the laundry off the field for the most part but was a little concerned how long they waited to blow the whistle all night as if they were allowing 21 to carry the pile or push the pile. The very pivotal play I think was the obvious sack by Hope having the QB wrapped up and not moving. They should have blew that play dead as a safety precaution and called the sack. Instead, they let it roll and he threw for a first down to keep winning drive going. Exciting game to watch.
