Good hire and probably the safest option out there.

I think the chancess of Chapman being in the rotation went up tremendously with this hire.

Chapman won't start.

Hitting coaches are worthless as teets on a boar hog.

LRCW better not be a driveby.

Based on this from Lance's blog, I am not so sure:

'Aroldis Chapman

I can't forget the conversation I had with Price during spring training and the Aroldis Chapman "experiment". Bryan told me the only way for Chapman to fully develop as a pitcher was to pitch, and pitch, to throw starter innings, not reliever innings. '

I think we will know the answer to this question befire srping training. If Chapman pitches some winter ball as a starter, get ready for it because he is starting.

Bryan Price is expected to be named as #Reds manager tomorrow, but #Reds officials wont confirm

We are reporting that Bryan Price will be named manager tomorrow. No comment from #Reds. Price did not return a message.

I am curious ... who tweeted it first?

Have the Reds made it official yet?

It has been official since he pulled out of the Marlins' managerial search last year.

Been REALLY official since about October 2nd.

BUT ... have the Reds scheduled the press conference yet? Are they going to make it official today or are we going to have to wait two weeks till the World Series is over for it to be officially official. :)

Maybe so. But if he starts Aroldis he'll basically hang it around his neck. If it goes well he may be manager of the yr. If not, Chapman tanks it or hurts himself, back end of the pen is a band-aid and struggles, he will be on the street this time next yr.

He certainly has done a great job with the pitching. Hopefully he will do the same overall.

I was really hoping that management would go after and get a big name, experienced MLB manager and pay what they whatever amount needed to get him. First thing imo he should do is fire the hitting coach, that to me anyway is a must.

It will be interesting to see the coaching staff he surrounds himself with. On one hand, you have a bunch of guys that he's already familiar with and already know the team (Hatcher, Berry, Speier), but on the other hand...how would it go from having a guy be your "equal" to now being your "boss"? Any chance Ted Power gets the call up from Triple-A to be the new pitching coach?

Sounds like most are pleased by this. I have mixed feelings, more so because I hoped they would go outside the organization.
