Elder beat a Winton Woods team crawling with high major D1 kids, with all due respect to the Ft Thomas crew, Highlands isn't going to seem quite as fast / quick as they normally do.

 

Trotwood Madison had 8 or 9 legit D1 players a while back and Highlands came away with the W.

 

I agree with sweeperboy, D1 high school players want to show off their individual skills rather than playing as a team. They might have the size and speed to play D1, but that doesn't mean their Talent level is up to par. Coaching and conditioning will be a HUGE factor in this game, advantage Highlands, on the c and c.

I don't know which game you're speaking of, but they look awesome when they boat-race every KY school. Unbelievable program, that isn't the question.

WW was challenged throwing the ball. Elder crowded the line, 11 men within 5 yards of the LOS and dared them to throw it. The speed didn't have a chance to showcase.

I personally think that the Birds will look' date=' offensively speaking, similar to the 1st quarter of the University Christian game. Elder will absorb the clock like a sponge, Houli and co. will see the field sparingly and will need to make every possession count.....the pressure on Houli will, unlike UC, be sustained throughout the contest. Biggest, most anticipated game of the 2013 season.[/quote']

 

If Elder gets good pressure on Drew it will be from their 4 man front. A different look than most teams play in high school.

 

The two teams that got the best pressure on Drew were JH and PT. They were very quick up front, much smaller and quicker than Elder will be.

Stretch Goal Friday

 

The HHS team focus and primary goal is to win a KY state championship. The Elder game will help HHS in their road to this achievement.

 

Beating Elder is as I call it a “Stretch Goal” of going undefeated and beating a GCL team.

I think Highlands pulls this one out. I don't know much about Elder this year and how good their defense is, but I find it hard to think they can stop Highlands offense. It will come down to Highlands defense and as long as they can slow Elder down their offense should be the difference in this game.
