I think Trinity caught a break when X came back on Manual, which puts X on Male's side come playoff time. Manual had a closer score against Trinity, but I'm sure Trinity would rather face Manual potentially in the second round than X.

Still not conceding that a team with a perfect record against a pewee schedule would definitively beat the Rocks, although I will concede that they could possibly score this year for the first time.

Congratulations to the Bulldogs. They outplayed Trinity and were the better team tonight. Male will play Manual on Friday and finish the regular season with Christian Academy. The Rocks get a week of "rest" and then finish at home with Archbishop Moeller. Moeller will spend next Saturday afternoon in Cleveland taking on the #1 ranked team in Ohio, St. Edward. Trinity's loss was a team effort. No finger pointing needed. The Rocks failed to rise to the occasion as a unit and yet were still in contention in the fourth quarter. This was the first loss to a Jefferson County Public School since 2003. This was the first loss to a KY public school since 2004. Male becomes only the third team in history to defeat St. Xavier and Trinity in consecutive weeks, joining Clark County and Cincinnati St. Xavier.

If Manual were to beat Male next week, how would the seedings in the district shake out. Who'd be #1 T or Male, with both at 2-1 and who'd be #3 between Manual and X, with both at 1-2?

Does Trinity have some key injuries? I am getting the impression from some that the team has taken some steps back as the season has progressed. My money is still on T to win it all in December.

No key injuries. One DL is out for a month. He was part of the rotation, but not a "key" player. One DB was out tonight. Not a "key" player, simply one of many in the mix. Male will be asked to beat St. X and Trinity on consecutive weeks for the second time this season assuming the Rocks can handle the Crimsons a second time. This district is set regardless of the Male/Manual outcome. Fern Creek, Ballard, Eastern and Oldham County is the projected order of finish for district 4. Thus, Manual at FC, St. X at Ballard, Eastern at THS, and OCHS at Male. Does anyone really have an issue with my prediction of a sweep?

In a two way tie, the first tie-breaker is head to head.....therefore Male is one seed, THS #2, StX #3 and Manual #4. It is settled. It was even announced by Male PA man after the X/Manual score was read.

I love all of the haters and the people trying to think of the next excuses. You all feed the fire of these kids. The RB for trinity, brooks, tweeted early this week that he laughs at teams like Male. Maybe you should remove the head from where you place your wallets and give credit where it's due. Who cares where they are ranked and how weak the schedule is...... Both Catholics have lost... Go find the next quick and Hatcher.. heard male's feeder schools are loaded... Trinity's freshmen may be better as a whole than last year's Senior bunch. Male's freshmen were soundly defeated by St X and Trinity this year. (a combined 93-27). It should be an excellent playoff season.

I too wish Alabama Larry could have been here to see it. Congratulations to the Dawgs. Although disappointing, I love the fact that our district is competitive and good games are happening again this year instead of blowouts.

 

I feel like this year's Rock team has struggled to find its identity. I still feel we have a great chance to make of to BG, but it's going to take a much greater mental effort than in previous year. I think the talent is there, but the intangibles need work. Penalties have been a problem (IMO) every game. Got to work on that discipline. Fundamentals can be fixed more easily, but avoiding penalties has to come from within.
