I will give you that. I didn't say it the correct way....should have said "refers" instead of blame. You knew what I meant. Most times on here if there is a negative (a loss, a "insert whatever here") about a T football team, the 2004 team gets mentioned. I think that's so old and stupid.

 

 

Considering the 2004 squad was probably the biggest disappointment of the Beatty era, it makes sense that they get brought up by comparison. You may not like it, but those are the facts on that subject.

 

This team is good, not great. They have to work their rear ends off if they want to repeat this year. I think there is a better chance for it than some, this will make the playoffs more interesting this year than in the last few years though.

These regular season games mean virtually nothing except to illustrate that there is no dominant team this year in 6A.

 

The way I see it, the team that improves the most over the next 3-4 weeks among the four super-district teams will be the favorite to win the state. (no disrespect to SK intended).

 

Could be T, X, Male or Manual

 

Should be a competitive playoffs in rounds 2,3 and will be much more wide open than in the past three years.

 

That being said, I'm betting on Beatty when it comes to crunch time!

I hav e watched a lot of Trinity teams over the years and this one doesn't remind me of 2004 at all. I don't sense attitude problems from body language or sideline demeanor. I think this team reminds me more of the 94 team. That team lost a lot of games but I always had the feeling that they were on the vergew of putting it together. They did, but not before they had to go to overtime to beat Doss in the first round of the playoffs and a miracle comeback against Central in the second round. Starting with the last few minutes of the Central game they looked like a different team and were never in danger the rest of the way. I think that the biggest need for this team is for them to realize that Quick, Wright, Dawkins, White Hatcher et al are not going to take over the game and save the win. Someone has to step up and play that role. I believe it will happen.
