October 20, 201312 yr The Reds are gonna have to spend money to fix what they've blown money on. If you're going to use a Lance McAlister tweet as your own, shouldn't you use quotes? He tweets it at 4:40, you waited 3 whole minutes. Nice.

That's the only way they pull the trigger. Uggla may slug 40 hrs but his BA makes Phillips look like Dimaggio.

October 21, 201312 yr Author The Real McCoy | www.daytondailynews.com Said one man who is in the clubhouse every day, “You can’t tell by Brandon’s face whether we won or lost, but you can tell if he went 0 for 4 or 2 for 4 no matter if we won or lost.”
October 21, 201312 yr That's the only way they pull the trigger. Uggla may slug 40 hrs but his BA makes Phillips look like Dimaggio. Uggla can't hit anything at this point. If the Braves are able to unload him and get BP in return without giving up too much...that would be fantastic.
October 21, 201312 yr They are a lot more interested in getting rid of him than what they get in return. Don't care. If you trade Phillips for Uggla you're giving up just about any chance of a postseason berth pending some other phenomenal move.

I've said consistently, since the Dusty will be fired and BP will be traded thread a few weeks ago, this will be a 75 win team next year. I don't like it, but it is basically inevitable at this point.

I don't like it, but it is basically inevitable at this point. I just don't see that at all. Cuteo, Latos, Bailey (if he's here), Chapman, Cingrani and Leake are going to get you over 81 wins no matter who is in the lineup. SF has proven it and Pittsburgh proved it again this year that the formula is pitch your tail off early in the year and bats will be available in July and August. Trading Homer or Cingrani is dumb unless the return is really great or you just know you can't afford Homer.

I've never heard anyone with any connection to the club say anything about trading Cingrani. Bailey is likely to be moved as he is getting very expensive quicly. Cueto hasn't proven to be durable, and I've not seen anything definitive that Bryan Price is definitely moving Chapman to the rotation. You're more optimistic than I am about 2014.

I think if they trade Bailey that Chapman would for sure be moved to starter. Who else would they use?

October 21, 201312 yr Lose a guy with a 1.6 War and keep the same very good pitching staff. Still an 85 win team. How about Choo's 4.2 WAR and Arroyo's 2.5 WAR? That's 8 wins between the 3 of them. Edited October 21, 201312 yr by AverageJoesGym
