October 11, 201312 yr 4 INTs and 8 sacks later by Rutgers, UL holds on by 14 punching in a late TD. The Rutgers QB is terrible, he is not a QB he is an athlete trying to play QB. UL defense played well, but UL missed a chance to make a big statement on National TV. I agree with Pollack if this was a top 15 (SEC like) team UL losses this game. His pocket presence was really bad, looked worse than Max Smith in trying to avoid a rush.

I have also thought Teddy had about 25% chance of winning the Heisman. I think McCaron and Manziel always going to 1-2 in the voting. As for Teddy I think he will get an invite to New York. I blame Teddy's performance on the OC Shawn Watson - he acts like he dont want to show much. Offiense has been very basic. I actually think Teddy could have easily won the Heisman. History tells us Manziel wasn't going to win again and McCaron was a long shot to start the season. If Teddy puts up the video game numbers he should be then he wins going away. He was one of the front runners coming in to the season coming off a big bowl victory and regarded as the top QB prospect. This is not the little engine that could. The competition has hurt, but the outputs have hurt him more, imo.

I believe the improvement of the defense is the strength in this year's team versus last year's team. I also don't agree that they would go on the road and lose to any top 15 team. If they are going to be looked at in that way, it may as well be said about damn near every other team that's ranked w/exception to Alabama, Oregon, and Clemson.

October 14, 201312 yr UL's schedule is really hurting Bridgewater's chances at a Heisman and it seems as more as the season wears on the bigger the slide his hopes take. There are 4-5 other QB's getting heat and Bridgewater is not one of them.

Look, maybe that's the case, but Thursday night was a chance to showcase in front of a national audiences and Bridgewater missed a few wide-open opportunities. Bridgewater could have put himself back in the picture Thursday and didn't. He still had a really nice game but wasn't dominant. The schedule didn't miss wide-open receivers heading for the end zone, he did. And we've already been through it in this thread. In the opinion of what seems to be most Louisville fans, neither the schedule nor the occasional overthrow are hurting Bridgewater's Heisman chances half as much as Shawn Watson's play calling on first and second down.
