Up 42-3 at the end of the first quarter, I will keep my starters in but it is time to work on the running game. Up 49-3 early in the second quarter, two more passing TD's is not good IMO. I am OK with keeping the starters in for the first half but you don't have to keep throwing the ball and adding on that way. If it is 3rd and 15, I am still running the ball. The first team adding on passing TD's in the first half at that point bothers me more than the second team scoring on a passing TD.

Score was 63 to 3 at half.

2nd team played 3rd quarter and started 4th then 3rd team finished and scored. Keep in mind what you don't see is Logan co turnovers giving BG short field to score. I don't blame Wallace for leaving starters in till half.

 

Don't forget BG is only playing 9 games do to the cancellation a couple weeks ago.

28 points was scored by Second and third teams in 3rd and 4th quarter. Yes they passed in passing situations that ended up going for td's but I don't know of anyone who would tell freshmen and sophomores not to score when they finally get in a game.

 

I can't believe no one saw this coming everyone in south central Kentucky has seen it coming for weeks now.

 

I really don't think BG tried to run the score up intentionally. Maybe in hindsight they called some plays that were ill advised now that the score is what it is but in game situations if you are playing you are going to call the same offense with you 2nd and 3rd teams to see how they react.

Looking at those scores and who did it makes the 91-10 score make perfect sense now. A 1A school beat the same 5A Logan County team 69-0. Of course BG would score 91 without trying to score 91.

Not sure what u mean by that? I don't know enough about the history of BG and JC. All I meant was if a coach ran the score up on me in the past and I had a chance to repay the favor, then by all means I'm going to drum him worse than he got me if at all possible. If he was respectable then I would be respectable.

I don't like Bowling Green, but not because they put up a lot of points on other teams (91 in this case). I don't like them because IMO John Hardin wins the 5A State Title the last two years if Bowling Green was not in their class. But I have a ton of respect for them and this score does nothing to diminish that respect.

You didn't lose respect for them because they didn't steamroll your team. If any team put up 90+ against your squad and the 2nd, 3rd or 4th team was passing up 50+ I gotta believe you would not be a happy camper. Maybe not? Different strokes for different folks. JMO. It would rub me the wrong way.

Even if the starting QB had eight TD's they were all in the first half. I'm not pulling my starters before halftime. Ever.

 

I've always said that anything before halftime is fair game. If you need your starters early in the 3rd to get to a running clock, I have no problem with that either.

The first half is fair game, anything goes. Wallace pulled the starters and his 2nd and 3rd team still scored. Anyone who gets mad that a Freshman back up to the backups throws a TD pass in the 4th quarter is wound too tight. LC's coach had no issue with what happened so why should we?

Many would say yes, even....HELL YES!!!

The game didn't change my thoughts about BG in any way shape or form. I still think they are a great team and have nothing to be ashamed of. I mean isn't LC averaging losing by something like 59 points a game or something unreal like that this year? So if they are losing by an avg of 50 points a game, what would be said if BG knelt on the ball after it was 36-0 and won with a final of 36-6, then there would be all kind of people on here saying BG isn't as good as advertised because there game against LC was the closest LC had this year etc.

Not the 1st time I've been told that! Look I know very little about BG (I know they have a darn good football team), but all I'm saying is I don't have a problem with the score IF they did it respectfully. I'm totally fine with the 1st team playing the entire 1st half. I'm ok with the 2nd team, 3rd team freshman, back ups of back ups scoring and playing hard. Just run the ball between the tackles and eat up the clock. Don't pass. I don't care if its a slant, post, corner route, hitch, screen or a half back pass it looks bad. If your running between the tackles and a freshman or an 8th grader scores 8 more times I'm fine with that. IMO I think it looks bad when your passing and the running clock is on in the 2nd half. It's only my opinion, doesn't make me right, it's just not my style.
