October 3, 201313 yr Arizona Officer Asked Not to Come to School in Uniform and with Gun - News - LawOfficer.com MESA, Ariz. (MyFoxPhoenix) - He's not the type of armed man on campus you'd expect parents to be concerned about -- but apparently a police officer dropping off his daughter at school was just too scary for some parents in Mesa. And the school principal actually called that officer to ask him not to wear his uniform on campus ever again. The issue was that other parents were concerned because he had a gun. The officer, who works for the Coolidge Police Department, is a parent of a kid that goes to Entz Elementary School in Mesa.
October 3, 201313 yr So now hes going to drop off kid at school, in plain clothes, still with gun. What did this solve.
October 3, 201313 yr Fox video said officer was swat team member, so was he attired and armed differently than regular police officer?
October 3, 201313 yr While the swat uniform could be more indimidating than the normal police uniform, it should have been obvious he was a sworn officer just dropping off his kid. I think some of the principals of our schools are going crazy.

I think some of the principals of our schools are going crazy. As I understand the badly reported Fox TV story, the school reacted to concerns of parents; the school didn't initiate a confrontation. Too bad we don't have a photo of how the officer was dressed.
October 3, 201313 yr Who cares how he was dressed? He's an officer of the law, in uniform. Some adults are pathetic. Complain about everything, shelter their children from everything, then wonder why our country is in such crappy shape.

October 3, 201313 yr Of course the uniform is important. If the officer was dressed in a swat uniform that did not resemble a typical police officer's uniform, then I can see why some parents might get upset. ("Whoa! Who is that armed guy walking up to our school dressed like that?!") However, if the officer was dressed in something approaching a standard uniform, then I agree with the majority view. Another example of shoddy Fox reporting seeking to sensationalize an incident, rather than inform the viewer.

No other news service has found this upsetting enough to even post a story that I could find on it....but I guess since it's from Fox there has to be something to complain about. Parents that complained didn't even see the officer, they just started whining because their children told them they saw a guy in uniform with a gun. What is worse than these clueless parents complaining about something they appear to have known nothing about, is the fact that the Principal who did know or found out who it was actually called the officer and asked not to come to the school in uniform.

How right you are about FOX NEWS, we only need CNN, MSNBC, to tell us the news, I mean LIBERAL news outlets never do that kind of stuff. They never go overboard and get caught lying. They sure wouldnt take clips and cut them to make up stuff either. Kill the Fox Reporters for treason. Liberals rule.
