All State Baseball Posted October 1, 2013 Author Posted October 1, 2013 Yeah no one really knew anything about him, other then before he was hired as head coach of the Cubs he was a bench coach for the Brewers. Anxious to see who the Cubbies get. Talk is Joe Girardi might be a candidate...

Hinch....Current Padres assistant....managed the D-Backs few years back.....Cubs GM Theo Epstein has also said that the club will only look at coaches that have managerial experience....Please NO DUSTY BAKER... If the Cubs go from one no body to another no body, I'm gonna be disgusted....Cubs know they need a big name coach to get the rebuilding job finished...these no name coaches aren't gonna get it done..

No. But if they wanna get there then they are gonna have to hire a big name coach. Sveum knew coming in that he wouldn't be at Chicago long...Cubs Ownership are pushing hard for Girardi.

The Scribe Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 I don't have confidence in this managerial hire. Girardi is going to have a bucket of cash thrown at him to stay with the Yankees, and then the Cubs will have to go to their fallback options, much like when Sveum was hired.
