All State Baseball
Yeah no one really knew anything about him, other then before he was hired as head coach of the Cubs he was a bench coach for the Brewers. Anxious to see who the Cubbies get. Talk is Joe Girardi might be a candidate...
MentschTrachtGottLacht
.................. So they have a roster with ZERO expectations, Dale Sveum does nothing with them, and then he is out the door. Funny stuff. Girardi, in my opinion, is a pipe-dream. I'll put my money on Brad Ausmus or an ex / current Red Sox coach / manager.

Not sure anyone would want to go there after that debacle.

nkuclubbaseball19
Hell can I put my name in the hat? Not an ideal job but it is a big league job.
All State Baseball
I hear Girardi has some interest in it since he's from Chicago......One name that's being mentioned as a possible candidate, A.J. Hinch....Current Padres assistant....managed the D-Backs few years back.....Cubs GM Theo Epstein has also said that the club will only look at coaches that have managerial experience....Please NO DUSTY BAKER... If the Cubs go from one no body to another no body, I'm gonna be disgusted....Cubs know they need a big name coach to get the rebuilding job finished...these no name coaches aren't gonna get it done.. All State Baseball
Really? They are "that" close? Interesting... No. But if they wanna get there then they are gonna have to hire a big name coach. Sveum knew coming in that he wouldn't be at Chicago long...Cubs Ownership are pushing hard for Girardi. sweet16
Girardi.....hometown.... If you look at it, anyone that's needing a job would go after it....$$$$ But most big names are already with teams and get paid. I don't see Girardi leaving NY for the Cubs. The Scribe
I don't have confidence in this managerial hire. Girardi is going to have a bucket of cash thrown at him to stay with the Yankees, and then the Cubs will have to go to their fallback options, much like when Sveum was hired.
