All State Baseball
But most big names are already with teams and get paid. I don't see Girardi leaving NY for the Cubs. He met with the Yanks tonight....If he stays he stays.... If the Cubs hire another no name, I'm gonna give up on this franchise...No name coaches aren't gonna get it done unless your a division rival... MentschTrachtGottLacht
Sveum knew coming in that he wouldn't be at Chicago long... I missed that part of his presser. Cubs' fans "hearing" Girardi is coming crack me up. I will be shocked if the new manager isn't Brad Ausmus or a current / former Red Sox coach / manager. Terry Francona was 285-365 with zero winning records in 4 seasons with the Phillies before taking the Red Sox job. Theo picked him...I think that worked out okay. The Scribe
I still can't understand how Terry Pendleton isn't a manager yet. Smart, fundamental leader when he played. Has coached and learned under Bobby Cox in Atlanta. There has to be something behind the scenes with him.

I don't like him as the hitting coach and I think he's done a poor job in Atlanta. I wish he'd go elsewhere.

All State Baseball
Didn't take Sveum long to find a new job. He's been added to the Royals 2014 coaching staff.
The Scribe
By all accounts, he's a good coach and teacher. But just because you are a good waitress, it doesn't mean you can run a restaurant.

All State Baseball
Girardi has asked the Yankees to let the Cubs talk to him about becoming their manager....Gordon Whittenmeyer (Chicago Sun-Times) is reporting that Cubs are preparing to offer Girardi one of the two most highest paid managers in baseball. 00Rocket28
Cubs have a lot of building blocks in place in the farm system which is one if the better ones in all of baseball. Everyone knew He was just holding the spot till the Cubs got the farm system replenished. That has been accomplished and anyone who keeps up with them knows they have a lot potential in the minors. I think Girardi lands with the Cubs. Hometown guy knowing in 2015 the Cubs will be competitive, why wouldn't he want to try to be the savior and forever a Chicago legend? Cubs minor leagues is way ahead of the Yanks.
