Not only that, but I think they tend to be more to the right than their counterparts are to the left. I don't think anyone whines about it - it's a Kentucky website.

Of the people who post in this forum in my short time back I'd say its 60/40 at worst 65/35 difference. 10 years ago it may have been more like 95/5, not so much anymore. Some of the most frequent posters in this forum are liberals or lean left.

My problem is that those on the right view every issue through the same prism, and the result more often than not is narrow, hackneyed discussion that seeks to reinforce existing values rather than plow new ground.

Changed one word and the result is the exact same. There are those on the right that will never admit the right is ever wrong. And there are those on the left that are the same way with their side. I find one of the main aspects of this forum that keeps me coming back is that there are a range of intelligent people here who disagree with my views. It makes me think and makes sure I can defend my views. I don't have it all figured out and I doubt anyone does. Not everyone who disagrees with your opinion is simpleminded. I probably annoy the hell out of a lot of people on here, but if I'm debating something with you it's likely that I think I can learn something.

It makes me think and makes sure I can defend my views. I don't have it all figured out and I doubt anyone does. Not everyone who disagrees with your opinion is simpleminded. I probably annoy the hell out of a lot of people on here, but if I'm debating something with you it's likely that I think I can learn something. A stance I whole-heartedly support. Very sad that the vast majority of our elected leadership does not seem to embrace the same.
