Attitudes like yours are what allows Washington to operate like it does. You put party ahead of country and allow your representatives to do the same rather than hold them accountable. Print this out and frame it, Democrats don't care about you at all any more than the Republicans do. Both would rather win political points than do what's best for the country. That is why there is so much flip flopping when power changes hands.

Mike Huckabee had a good idea, he basically said the Republicans need to agree to raising the debt ceiling if the Democrats would agree to giving Obamacare a specific trial window(I believe he said 1 year) to see how it works out and how the public likes it. If it is as good as they say, then make it the law, and if not, come up with a different plan.

Fair points, many times actions like these are the work of a few idiots working on their own and tend to hurt rather than help their own side.

The claim is that these are federal employees - clearly some are not - most are probably not union and probably not federal employees at all - even though that is the supposed reason for the organized protest. It was organized by SEIU apparently. There connection to the administration and high level DNC players is well known.

 

When someone says one party or another is for the people more than the other its a joke. They are playing political drama in most cases. Its just bothersome that someone put this much effort into a fake protest to counter the artificial closing of monuments that are normally open 24x7 and need no paid resources.

I will apologize for painting all Democrats with this post. There are radical operatives that work to create events for both sides. The are a sliver of the population.

The WWII memorial is normally open 24 x 7. Its not designed to be 'closed'. Why 'close' it?

 

Why close a farm that is leased from the federal government and the government has no financial responsibilty towards. Its just sitting on federal 'owned' land. Talk about temper tantrum. Its just spiteful to do that action.

I think people are smart or getting smarter about the antics of our elected 'leaders'. As noted this 'make it hurt' strategy is not new - and even originally done by a Republican administration who probably was similiarly upset that their power was being challenged. The drama, mostly created artificially, needs to be called out. I just think of kids on school trips, verterans who are making once in a lifetime trip, etc. and being denied access to monuments that belong to us - the people. There is some elbows-up political antics going on - on both sides right now. That is the ugly nature of our system and this is not the first or last time these antics will occur. And its been far worse in the past at times. But the political gamesmanship should not spill over unnecessarily to artificially create situations where the people are denied access to historic places that are ours.

Wrong. It's because it's easier to talk this wall that I am staring at right now. It's a dead end conversation that ends up being in exercise in futility. Us libs on here have our beliefs and you conservatives have yours. I'm not going to try to change anyone's minds about their beliefs because we all know where we stand. At this point all I am trying to do is get you conservatives to blame your guys also. All I see is finger pointing at Obama when they are all to blame. Other than that there is no point conversating about anything political.
