When it comes to beating HHS what is missing and has been missing for quite some time at CCH is overall team speed.

"What is missing...?" How about the starting QB, RB, leading WR, an OT, and various Defensive starters throughout the year.

 

This has absolutely zero to do with heart. This group stepped up @ the beginning of quarter #2 vs Dixie and sealed a win against what is turning out to be a pretty darn good team. They drove four hours down to the #6 ranked team (at the time) in 6A down @ Henderson and beat them 18-0.

 

This team has nothing BUT heart, grit and determination. Sorry folks- there's nothing wrong in Colonel land that can't and won't be fixed by the return of all those players.

 

Highlands has an uber talented group of young men right now- I'd suggest the Birds and the Rebels and Jags ets should worry more about what they have coming up next year and the years to come instead of manufacturing issues that aren't there. The Colonels of CCH will be more than fine.

Exactly....wish they would of fulfilled their obligation. It's very hard to find games. Sorry for the kids that put in the time!

The starting QB is a 10th grader who would have been the JV QB. The starting RB is a 10th grader who would have been the JV RB. One of the WR is a 10th grader who would have been the WR on the JV. Do I really need to go on for some of you to get the idea that CovCath has had a year like no other at CovCath that I am aware of with injuries and a lot of the kids are playing V instead of JV?

 

True all the injuries have hurt CovCath deeply this year but it will help out the future and that 10th grade RB that went down far to easy per one poster, will get stronger both mentally and physically next year and then we will see how easily he goes down. Trust me, HHS would not have taken down Luke Bir so easily!

Know what? CVH dressed. You also have Hentz. Surely JV has more than one running back. I am struggling coming up with a good excuse for not playing the JV game.

There is nothing wrong with CCH. They aren't missing anything, they have injuries bit unlike what some like to think even without the injuries they still wouldn't get past regionals

 

CCH is always getting preferential treatment in NKY even though they haven't won anything in awhile. They will always have a good team but as long as HHS is in front of them CCH will be like every other team in 6A that has to face T or every team in 5A that has to face BG etc.

 

There isn't anything wrong with CCH they just aren't good enough healthy or not to beat HHS.

Honest answer and would love to see the game and would be rooting for HHS for it would be close but no! Moe is just too deep, bigger, stronger and while HHS is faster, Moe is just better overall!

I agree with most everything you've said, but as I'm not a native, I don't know what you mean by "CCH always getting preferential treatment in NKy." I mean, either they win, or they don't. The past two - three years they have won and their praise has been justified.

In order to stay in BGP's good graces, I'll be as polite as possible on this one. I haven't read the game thread yet, but whoever said this doesn't have the first clue.

 

The CovCath kids didn't decide to show no effort today of all days. If the effort wasn't there today, then it hasn't been there all year, including their wins. Somebody should have something sooner. I can guarantee the players showed the same effort today as they did when they beat Boone. Teams either play hard or they don't, but they don't pick their weeks. It doesn't work that way.

 

If anyone thinks CovCath, or anyone else in NKY, is on a par with Highlands, they are misguided. Highlands talent is superior to everyone in the area.

Sandman, normally I agree with you, but I've seen players/teams really play hard some weeks and be rather lackadaisical other weeks. Do I think CovCath played without a hard effort against Highlands? Man, I'd sure hope not.

 

I did see a couple of CovCath players (and no I won't give numbers as I don't want to identify those players) seemingly really packing it in after Highlands got up by 21. Based on the comments of a CovCath fan standing nearby me, I wasn't the only one that saw that. And these kids were not backups playing due to injured starters.

 

Having said that, I also saw some CovCath players playing hard the entire game. Kudos to them.

 

Great effort by the Highlands players and another nice coaching job by Dale, Brian and the assistants.
