Also it was pointed out that The front office didn't feel that Richardson didn't fit the new offense they are trying to put in place. Turner usually has more versatile backs than what Richardson is.

To be fair, there were other teams who passed on Adrian Peterson because of injury concerns, which were magnified by his physical running style.

 

In his freshman season at Oklahoma, he dislocated a shoulder and missed some action (though he didn't sit out any games). In his sophomore season, he missed some time in four games because of an ankle. His junior season, he missed seven games with a broken collar bone, then came back and re-injured it in their BCS game.

anyone that says they could have predicted his NFL success coming off those injuries is lying.

I think it was fair to say that most all teams thought he would be successful IF he could stay healthy. That's a big IF when you're making the selection though.

Could be true but I'll give him a few games with the Colts before I decide. The Colts don't have a great line but they do have studs at QB, WR and a few nice TE's. I think Trent will do much better in Indy.

pverrated? He had 950 yards and 11 TDs with the Browns offensive line last year. Not to mention a bad rookie QB.

My whole thing is this: if he's so overrated, why did they draft him where they did?

 

I do underrstand why they would "cut their losses", so to speak, if that's how they felt now though.

I don't have a problem with it. There aren't many backs I would keep over a #1 pick. History shows that a)it's a QB league now and b)you can find serviceable backs.

 

The key is what they do with this pick.

 

I agree with you on the cold logic of it, but goodness, that's got to be demoralizing for Cleveland.

I'm just not sold on Manziel as an NFL QB. Can't run around in the backfield and throw up jump balls at the next level. Time will tell.

 

I'm with you, great college player like Tebow but I have my doubts as far as what he can do at the next level.

Manziel just threw for 464 yards versus "Defensive God" Saban, right? Would you rather have Manziel or Andy Dalton? I don't know if Manziel is going to be a superstar but he could be something special and at the worst he will be a better starting QB than half the current starters in the NFL. The QB that Manziel is being compared to as most similar - Russell Wilson.
