September 18, 201313 yr I wonder who else bid on him? Can you imagine the Giants with Richardson in the backfield?
September 18, 201313 yr That sounds more like something the Browns would do. Which is dumb, Clowney looks to be rather ill prepared for college football right now, let alone the NFL. I think he's playing far more hurt than is being let on. Two weeks into the season, and there's already an announcement that he'll be having (foot) surgery at the end of the season. I'll try to find the link to the report if it's not already been posted.
September 18, 201313 yr I wonder who else bid on him? Can you imagine the Giants with Richardson in the backfield? Problem is he wouldn't make it past the line if scrimmage for the Giants because they're line is so bad. :lol2:
September 18, 201313 yr I'm not sold on Manziel as an NFL QB either. Irish Cat makes the same point I was thinking about running around and throwing up jump balls. Aside from that, I'd imagine the bounty pool in locker rooms is going to be crazy high on being the man who knocks little Johnny out as a "welcome to the NFL rookie". That said, this is just a stupid move for the Browns. You trade the guy you picked #3 overall a year ago to a potential playoff team. If he's not that valuable, why did you pick him #3 then? Either way, they made a dumb move somewhere. I guess that really isn't saying much though, just stating the obvious. Edited September 19, 201313 yr by JokersWild24 Corrected Draft Year
September 18, 201313 yr If you're a Browns player, especially a veteran whose been there awhile and saw the worst of times, what's going through your mind right now?

Said it gets frustrating constantly losing and when you are getting older you just want to win.
September 19, 201313 yr At least the Jags have MJD. Actually from certain reports I see, I wouldn't be surprised to see him move before draft deadline.

September 19, 201313 yr Just read that the Browns will likely use first pick on a QB and the 2nd pick on a WR. Take an RB in the 2nd round.
September 19, 201313 yr Joe Thomas has already stated his frustration with the front office constantly wanting to rebuild and what not. Said it gets frustrating constantly losing and when you are getting older you just want to win. Had they picked a RB that year they would have had one of the best RBs of all time and the franchise an identity. Some posters on here still wanted Thomas and mocked picking a RB. They have a new front office who wants to rebuild their way now. Sure it's a surprise to let Rich go but we don't know what's going on behind the scenes.
September 19, 201313 yr I don't have a problem with it. There aren't many backs I would keep over a #1 pick. History shows that a)it's a QB league now and b)you can find serviceable backs. The key is what they do with this pick.
