As a fan and alum, yeah, naturally. My point was adding to Wireman's comment. After UL's display against UK, and A&M's performance against Bama I thought they would be ranked above UL. Then mentioned a few other teams I think could beat them, but that will all shake out over the course of the season.

I would add FSU, UGA, SC. After all UK did get manhandled by WKU, but only loses to UL by 14.

 

I honestly didn't think that UK was manhandled by WKU, played very tentatively, especially on defense, but you are fooling yourself if you think that UL is not much better than WKU. Also, I think that it is fairly obvious that UK has improved a lot from their first game.

 

The Cards could play with any of the teams you mentioned, might lose, might win. Where UL may have problems is if they had to play a run of games such as UK is facing, mainly due to their depth quality not quite matching up with the top echelon teams. In a bowl type match-up, I would have a lot of faith in Bridge Water and the Louisville defense keeping them competitive.

First, that was a small jab at someone from a previous thread, because the conversation escalated into a debate on the definition of "man handle" (in the sports realm of course).

 

Second, you are fooling yourself if you think that the Cardinal team that rolled into Lexington could hang with FSU, UGA, A&M, and SC. If they could only hang 27 on UK's D, I think Manziel, Murray, Winston,and Shaw would be laughing hysterically while making it rain TD's.

Rutgers (2-1, wins over Norfolk State, E. Michigan)

UCF (3-0, maybe toughest team on the Cards schedule)

USF (0-3)

UCONN (0-2)

Houston (2-0, wins over Southern and Temple)

Memphis (0-2)

Cincinnati (2-1, wins over Purdue and NW State)

 

I know they can't control their schedule this year because of conference change but man that is really a bad schedule.

And that is where I am. It is the old Boise State argument. I have never felt Boise State was a legit top 10 team nor have they ever showcased that type of talent or more importantly depth, but in a 1 game scenario completely healthy they can win. Getting up for 1-2 games in a season is a big difference in having to get up for 5-6 games. Polls are purely subjective though. One can make an argument for UL being ranked anywhere from 5-25 and I am not going to think it is all that outlandish. I think 10-12 is about right though.
