I expected a much tougher game from the Bobcats. UL's OL and total defense played better than I expected. I hope Strong can keep the boys humble and hungry.

UL kicked 2 kick-offs, I think, out of bounds and thus incurred penalties. In the official statistics of the game, how many penalty yards are assessed for such an accepted penalty. The receiving team gets the ball on the 35, so is the penalty yardage the difference between the 35 and the touchback placement?

Which is garbage because the break up of the big east is what burnt them as well as UC. UL is a top 5 team. Only teams I'd put in front are Alabama(need I say more) and Clemson(let down waiting to happen). But after that it's all UL in my opinion. I hate that a they'll be punished because of the big east fall out

Honestly I was questioning to an extent what Strong was thinking but it's really not fair to do so. The current make up requires them to blow out teams and hope those teams win games. They don't get anything for style points in week 1. If he can pad Bridgewaters stats some to help him at a heisman shot it's hard to blame him. People love the thought of a heisman winner playing for a national title and they'll eat it up if he's matched up against an Alabama team going for its third straight.

Don't believe so, but it's definitely possible he slipped in and I didn't notice since Louisville was playing seemingly anyone and everyone wearing a number during the fourth.

My whole body hurts. Left Clemson, SC at 6:15 am to make it back in time for this one. Two days in direct sunlight is two days too many for this Norse-German gentleman. I feel like I've been cooked on low heat for 48 hours.

 

Totally worth it. Incredible crowd at PJCS to start the game. Second best attendance in Louisville history.

 

Definitely can't complain about the offense in general. Hopefully they can clean up a few of the smaller things like false-starts as the weeks wear on.

 

A little worried that kickoff coverage doesn't seem to have had the drastic improvement I'd hoped for...

 

Loved to see Will Gardner get a few reps in. He has a nice touch with the ball. A couple of his we're really nice that absolutely should have been caught.

Thoughts about Yesterday.

It really is something to see a school with a superb marching band like Ohio then see them compared to UofL. That said, I'm pretty confident it's a lot easier to find talented, experienced high school musicians that have been in marching bands for years in Ohio than it is here in Kentucky. Heck, each and every one of them are probably musicians rejected by the Ohio State band and forced to look elsewhere.

 

There's also something to be said for being able to build off a marching band tradition. How many people in that stadium do you think even care if Louisville's band is good? I'd guess not many.

Impressed! Did Pike do anything?

Other than Teddy being Teddy, the two big things that stood out was the depth at the running back position and how good the defense was. I know everyone is going to talk about strength of schedule and more associated with it, but I clearly believe that they are nothing short of a top five team and that Teddy's shot at the Heisman is better than many think.
