Louisville 49 Ohio 7

7. OUR BAND SUCKS! I hate hearing Bon Jovi every game. Please fire the band director!

It really is something to see a school with a superb marching band like Ohio then see them compared to UofL. That said, I'm pretty confident it's a lot easier to find talented, experienced high school musicians that have been in marching bands for years in Ohio than it is here in Kentucky. Heck, each and every one of them are probably musicians rejected by the Ohio State band and forced to look elsewhere.

There's also something to be said for being able to build off a marching band tradition. How many people in that stadium do you think even care if Louisville's band is good? I'd guess not many.

Speaking from personal experience, the band is bad now because of the new director/staff. I was in it from 2004 through the Orange Bowl year, and it was much better/bigger. The way the old director was sent packing really ruffled some feathers among the veteran band members, and a lot of them quit when they brought the new staff in.

From what I've heard, the new staff has done a lot of running people off also. Anybody that was there with the old director absolutely hates the new staff. When the staff is a bunch of squares, you get a square band. Sucks, because some of my favorite memories from school are from being in that group.
